Online Card Class homework!

Although I've been busy creating, I'm only now catching up on posting some of the fun cards I've been making in the Clean & Simple 4- Techniques Made Simple class I'm taking.

I won't go in to details on how I made them (Take the class! It's fun!), but be assured you CAN do these techniques and you CAN use supplies already in your stash! Of course if you do need some fun supplies then I'd recommend Butterfly Reflections, Ink. You will find loads of trendy, useful, amazing product there!

Since I'm taking a NEW class, I'm linking this up to Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday

Have a great day everyone! Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Sharing published work

Just a quick post today! I have been busy creating lots of fun stuff but does anyone else find that the picture taking, editing, and blogging part takes so long?! Blech. I LOVE sharing my creations with you but all that time on the computer takes away from STAMPING time. :) Lol

So for today, instead of sharing something new I'm sharing a card that was published in the last issue of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine.

I have always adored this cute image from My Favorite Things and wanted to pair it with some alligator-style specialty paper I'd had in my stash for awhile. It was perfect for paper piecing.

Have a great day everyone!

Coffee Love

I'm up today on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog with a cute coffee-themed card.  I'd love it if you popped over there and left me some love!

I'm linking this card up to the Avery Elle AEIHEARTU Challenge #20 which is to use paper piecing! My paper piecing isn't done with designer papers as is usually done with this fun technique, but rather with the Texture Tiles stamp! I stamped the tile in various colours, stamped the mug from We Go Together over top, cut them out, and popped them up on my card. There's a better description on the BRI blog. :)

Happy Friday everyone!

CAS-ual Fridays Feature

I'm ALL about the card-making but once in awhile I like to step away from it and try an easy (it HAS to be easy for me to be able to handle it lol!) alterable paper-crafted project instead.

Today I'm showing how I dressed up a sweet pre-made tag using CAS-ual Fridays Stamps Smitten stamp set and a favourite picture of my husband and I.  There are lots of feminine touches on this creation, making it perfect for me to display leading up to Valentine's Day. A peek of pink doily, clear sequins, gold glitter, sheer ribbon and of course, a lovey-dovey sentiment!

Some creative masking came into play with this one to get the font combination I was looking for.  Even though there are two different "with you" options included in the set, I was picky and wanted one word from each. ;) I'm difficult like that. Washi tape easily helped to mask off what I didn't want and it came together easily. As much as I'd love to give this to my husband or use it as a gift tag for our upcoming anniversary, I think it's a wee bit pink and girly for his liking! I'm going to keep it tacked up on my bulletin board.

Thanks for stopping in today! Don't forget to check out Smitten and it's companion set Mwah over at the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store.

You're All I Need

While I do consider myself a mushy gushy, lovey dovey type person, creating cards of the same theme just doesn't come easily to me. If I'm going to make a love/Valentine's Day themed card I want it to be bright and bold! The latest release from My Favorite Things had so much heart and romance-themed stuff that I knew I could use it for some Marcie-style cardmaking!

I stamped the Tiny Hearts Background in black on Razzle Berry cardstock; popped the sentiment from Smitten With You up with foam tape, and added clear sparkle embossing powder to the Blu Raspberry flag. The heart (from Smitten With You) was stamped in black, trimmed out and coated with Glossy Accents.

I'm linking up to MFTWSC211 this week *just* in time! :)

Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

You're AMAZING!

Today's my day over on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog and I'd love it if you popped over there and left me some love! I'm showing this card using some of my favourite Waffle Flower sets.

I created my own background by stamping multiple itty bitty stamps and customized the stars by dipping them in ink that matched the sentiment.

I'm linking up to the latest Waffle Flower challenge with this card.  I used the colours as my inspiration.  I'm also linking up to CASology Week 129: NBUS; the In Every Way stamp set was brand spankin' new!

Color Coordinates

I was searching the web for some colour inspiration last week when into my blog reader popped the weekly Color Coordinate Recipe from Simon Says Stamp. It's not posted there for a challenge or anything, just for some lovely colourful inspiration to admire. I just love seeing how Shari incorporates the chosen scheme every week into her beautiful creations!

I decided to play around just for fun and use the same colours (or very similar) on a floral, spring-like card.

I stamped and embossed the flower cluster from Thinking of You and used inks to watercolour them in. I freehand painted the leaves. It was popped up on a white card base, and the sentiment was also stamped and embossed in white. Watercolouring is so relaxing. :) I love how fresh and pretty this turned out!

I've been saving lots of these Colour Coordinates recipes for future use. Design Seeds is another fantastic site for lovely colour combinations. Of course, Pinterest has LOADS of colourful inspiration. Here's a link to my favourite combos
Thanks for stopping in and enjoy your day!

Clean Slate

This is one of those cards in my files that I would have sworn I blogged weeks ago, but nope. I have shown it on Instagram and it was part of my intro on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink team but I had yet to actually share it here with you. :) So here we go!

I started with a piece of watercolour paper and heat embossed that amazing Origami Map in white embossing powder. Then I used my Distress Markers to colour in the countries and watercoloured over top. The sentiment was stamped in black and a cute red heart finished it off. I trimmed the panel slightly and matted it on a blue pre-made card base.
I LOVE how this card turned out. It's one of my favourites.

Since there's lots of white space on this creation and it's basically one layer, I think it's perfect to link up to one of my favourite challenges, Virginia's View- Clean Slate.

Something NEW!

I know we are already nine days into the new year but I thought this card would be appropriate for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Something New.
2015 is still new baby!! Well, new enough that I have wrote 2014 six times still. ;)

I die cut the Confetti Circle from my black card base and adhered super sparkly glitter paper behind it. The sentiment was heat embossed in silver. It's from an older birthday set by Kelly Purkey (discontinued) but works great for this New Year card too! 2015 was die cut from Block Alphabet Numbers dies, then heat embossed with a sparkly silver embossing powder. That glitter paper can be tricky to adhere anything to, so I used Multi Media Matte. It always does the trick!

Thanks for stopping in today and I'm headed off to check out all the other NEW stuff linked up! So fun!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release day!

I'm popping in today with another card from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps latest release. Sneak peeks are over for the January release and happy shopping to you all

I couldn't put my stamps away yet from this fun release so I whipped up another card using Three in a Row, Tic Tac Toe Fri-Die, and Smitten. The pink hearts were covered with Wink of Stella which makes them SOOOOO sparkly and pretty! Love it!

I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Day 3 CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January release!

Welcome back to the last day of sneak peeks for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January release!
Today we are showcasing Smitten, a companion to Mwah from earlier this week, and with equally gorgeous sentiments and font choices.

I chose to combine two stamps to make the "smitten with you" and kept a basic colour scheme of navy, white and gold. The starry vellum overlay just stuns in real life!  A few wooden stars finish off the card.

Smitten and the rest of the January release will be available tomorrow! Go on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog and check out what Angie, Deepti, Jingle, Kelly, Virginia, Zoey and Michele have made using this pretty set. There are some amazing creations there! Don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win!

Day 2 CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January release!

Welcome back for Day 2 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January release!
Today we're showing off Tic-Tac-Toe and I *think* this could possibly be my favourite stamp set yet.

I smiled to myself the whole time I was making this card...and I admit BOW CHICKA WOW WOW was running through my head as I made it. *giggle*

Tic-Tac-Toe comes with a whole expanse of sentiments and fun stuff and I've barely touched the surface using it on this card. There's even a matching die that works perfectly!! I used the 'x' three times as my focal point and covered them with Glossy Accents. The sentiment was embossed in red. That amazing background paper is black and white zebra glitter paper I picked up at Michael's a loooong time ago. I knew it was too boring to use on this fun card so I blended in some red, orange and yellow inks to give that spicy look. Ooolala! This one is definitely going to my husband for Valentine's Day, wink wink! :)

Head on over the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to see what the others have come up with using this super fun set. SO many possibilities! Leave a comment there for a chance to win! We have one more day of sneak peeks ahead of us before the release on January 3rd. Have a great day!
