Oh, Ship!

I love a good play on words, and this Kelly Purkey stamp set does not disappoint.  It's mostly gender neutral, so it would be perfect for either a male or female belated birthday. I know a few friends who would get a chuckle out of this one, that's for sure. :)

There is not much to explain about this creation, other than I clear embossed the Tiny Flags background right on the cardstock base. I like that tone on tone look.   Thanks for stopping in and happy Thursday to you all!

#30's!

The hash tag craze. You either #loveit or want to #makeitstop. I for one #loveit. Check out the awesome Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake YouTube clip that will just about drive you hash tag insane...I watched it awhile ago, so I can't quite remember what the language it like, but it was from Jimmy's show so I"m assuming language is mild or bleeped.

On to the card... I stamped and embossed the Hero Arts triangle background on the cardstock base. I stamped my sentiment and triangles on white and added enamel dots. The white piece was popped up using foam dimensionals. I love how fun and trendy this it!

Thanks for popping in and #haveagreatday!

Hexagonally Challenged

I'm posting a card today for the Hexagons: Happy for Hexagons Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!

A crafting trend for awhile now, hexagons are out there in full force...but NOT in my stash so it would seem. I had to DIG through all my embellishments and papers before I found this lovely patterned paper piece in the Wanderlust collection by Studio Calico.

For this card, I used my craft knife and a ruler to cut out one of the hexagons, then backed it on a soft grey card base. I stamped the sentiment, covered it with Wink of Stella glitter and gave it a coating of glossy accents. It's so shiny and glossy and has nice dimension in real life. Looooove! After adding more than a few embellishments, the end result was something a little more fussy than I normally make. Sometimes it's fun to play around outside your crafting comfort zone!

Check out the rest of the links over at the Moxie Fab World and thanks for stopping in!

Hero Arts Birthday Challenge- Metallics

Happy Sunday to you all! Today is a GREAT day because I have a nice GOLD card to celebrate the fact that the Canadian Men's hockey team won GOLD this morning at the Olympics! Wooohooo!

It was a fun game to watch and we were up at 7 a.m. bright and early on this weekend morning with our coffees (orange juice for the kids!) to cheer on the guys. We were crossing our fingers that they would prove as victorious as the women were a few days ago. We were NOT disappointed! :)

Anyway...on to the card! I stamped my candle image in watermark ink on Hero Arts watercolor paper, then embossed it in gold. Then I pressed my Butter Bar ink (from a dauber) right on to my craft mat, and used a teeeeeny bit of water to soften it, then went right over the candle image with a nice, light wash. After that dried I flicked on various ink colours that I had also toned down a bit with water. The sentiment was stamped and embossed in white and watercolored over top with purple. That Neon Purple really lightens up when mixed with a bit of water. All of it was backed on a gold card base. I'm linking this card up to the Hero Arts Birthday Challenge and entering it in the METALLICS category.

Thanks for stopping in on this cheery Sunday, and if you're a fellow Canadian- go Team Canada!
