I'll admit, there is not a lot of Christmas magic around our house yet. I love Christmas and my children are at the age to fully enjoy it so I AM looking forward to Christmas Day, but right now with no snow on the ground it's hard to get into the spirit of the season!! I don't even have my tree up yet. Don't worry that will be remedied SOON!

This card is a CASE from SCS. Lots of Christmas inspiration there to be found! Coincidentally, it happened to be created by one of my fave Papertrey Ink designers- Niki Estes.

I love it when that happens, because I usually get stuck on only using a certain companies products all on one card. I find it hard incorporating different papers and stamps...but I think I did it okay this time around!?

Babybabybabybabybaby... Nope, no more babies around here !! :) I'm not sure if I like the black ink for the sentiment, but at the time I couldn't think of anything else, so I went with what was on hand! That happens a lot around here...haha. This afternoon is Christmas cookie day! Jake and I are going to bake some "kid friendly" recipes together. He is SO good at licking the bowl and spoon-haha! It's good bonding time for mommy and son, AND I find the measuring, etc. helps him with early math skills...aren't I smart!? :)

Man oh man, I just LOVE all these Crafty Secrets products!! This particular 'scrap' is from the Christmas Image and Journal Notes. All I had to do was trim it to fit, and add a little bit of Stickles for extra "oomph". Very vintage-y and heartwarming and I think many on the receiving end of my Christmas card list will love it!

Yesterday was the final craft sale of the season for my mom and I. It was a long day and I slept GREAT last night! I love meeting people who are interested in what we do/make and have lots of questions. If I can convince someone to pick up a stamp and get inky that always makes me happy!! :)

I have to admit, I am OVER baby cards now. While I was expecting my daughter, and for the few months after all I could do was make baby cards. I had BABIES on the BRAIN! :) Now, as I look at Robin who is 10 months old, I realize she is not much of a baby anymore and so...my baby mojo has left. Hahaha!!

This one involved just a little masking to get that red circle perfectly placed. I stamped the tree on a scrap piece of paper, cut it out and layered it over my already stamped tree so the circle would not show through the tree. Not hard, and you all know how to do it already I'm sure! :)

We had our community craft bazaar yesterday and sold our cards and other paper crafting goods. It was lots of fun, and so good to see neighbours and others we haven't seen in a long time. Our cards sold very well, other stuff not so much which was surprising...I mean, with a banner like that who wouldn't be drawn to our table!? My mother made it...she's just a wee bit talented. :)

You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man!! That's what this little image reminds me of...a favourite childhood story that I now love telling to my children. Yep- Holiday Button Bits is right up there on my list of favourite Papertrey Ink stamp sets.
A detail- I used a strip of Scor Tape across the middle of the card and sprinkled clear glitter on it to break up that vast expanse of paper...I actually don't like the result and wish I would have thought of something else... :(

I found myself wanting to create something a little more traditional for a Christmas card today. I just love all those quirky, cute, and 'off' colour Christmas cards (think pink and frosty blue), but I found myself longing for something rich, red and religious- hahaha. This card on SCS gave me the inspiration for my own version...alright, not so much inspiration as a direct CASE, but oh well. I used various Cuttlebug folders, with a Kaisercraft gem for added "bling." Lovely for a wedding card! I hope everyone else is having as sunshiny weekend as we are here in South Western Ontario!!

Wedding season for us is over (for now anyway) so it seems. I'm at the age where almost all my good friends are recently married, or about to be married, so these wedding cards come in handy!! Now I'll just have to stock up on BABY cards :)

I love these Wedding Centres stamps by CHF. They are just *perfect* for the inside sentiment in your wedding card, and sometimes like on this card- good for the outside too!

Timeless Templates- Around Town Tote

I love these templates by Lauren Meader (for Papertrey Ink). They are quick, easy and beautiful! This Around Town Tote I put together pretty quickly (a little head turned sideways here, tongue sticking out there) and was pleased with the result! I made quite a few of these to give presents in this holiday season- they fit so many things- CD, paperback book, lotion and soap combo, pretty much anything you can think of!!

This little boy jumper follows all the same principles as the little girl dress in the previous post. :) I used gorgeous Cosmo Cricket papers, and added a few touches with Scarlet Jewel buttons, Bella dots and a Martha Stewart punch.

My mom and I are off to a craft sale today to get ideas on how to decorate OUR table for the local Christmas Bazaar the end of November! Maybe I'll buy a few things while I'm there! :)

Crafty Secrets Christmas

I was so excited to enter the Crafty Secrets booth at this summer's CHA Supershow in Orlando. I'd heard about their products, seen them online, but never ventured into Crafty Secrets 'territory' before. That all changed the moment I walked into their beautifully decorated booth...I was in LOVE! :) I bought the cutest little chipboard dress and knew that I would decorate it Christmas-style. Here is the finished result. I also bought the vintage hanger there...a very neat finished touch.

I traced all the pieces onto the designer paper and cut it out as closely as possible. After gluing it on, I trimmed any overhanging edges, sanded them down and inked the edges with Chamomile ink. Then I painted the edges with the gold paint pen. When you untie the ribbon and open it up, it is covered with Vintage Cream paper inside.

This stamp is pretty when stamped with soft, sweet colours and the new formulation of Papertrey Ink's Sweet Blush and Spring Moss meets that criteria! The image is called Solidago Sprig and is by Rubber Stampede. I stamped the image on cream coloured, linen textured cardstock and inked the edges with chamomile tea dye ink. I used my SU! scalloped border punch on the one edge and tied across Spring Moss satin dots ribbon. The card base is also Spring Moss, and I used a Cuttlebug border strip along the right edge. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages by PTI- my "go-to" set for many of my cards!

One of my favourite Papertrey Ink sets...Everyday Button Bits. My new fave is of course, Holiday Button Bits! I paired the cherry stems with Pure Poppy buttons, and pretty designer paper from October Afternoon's Cherry Hill collection.

Speaking of October afternoons...(that was kinda cheesy wasn't it??) I took some pictures of my little ones playing outside yesterday since it was such a lovely day. I think they turned out pretty cute! The pictures that is, not the kids...OBVIOUSLY the kids are cute! :) Jake is now 3 years old, and Robin 9 months. They both slept SO well last night after being outside in the fresh air all afternoon! Lucky me!

Yeah!!! It's the 25th of October! (Already!?) That means it's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop time and this month the theme is to create a holiday project.
