The Card Concept #118- Cacti Clusters

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. Succulents are my favourite plant and I KNOW they are hard to kill but I still can accomplish that; so even though I love them they are yet another greenery that I do not attempt to keep alive. :)

I have a clean and simple card to show you today in which the potted plants themselves and the colour scheme were my inspiration. The new Rooting for You stamp set by Concord & 9th arrived at my door JUST in time for this challenge. Perfect timing!

On an A2 white card base, I used my MISTI to stamp the shelves in black ink, and all the outlines of the plants, leaves and frame, masking some if necessary. Then I stamped all the solid images in various ink colours. One of the purple planters has some Stickles Diamond glitter added to it for sparkle...something I think I add to nearly every card. I love sparkle. :)

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see how the rest of the team was inspired and what styles they used on their cards. Play along with us using any of the styles we highlight...I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Just a reminder that this is the LAST challenge of the summer. We will be back in September after our yearly break and we can't wait to bring you more inspiration and look forward to seeing your creations! Happy cardmaking to you all!

The Card Concept #117- Summer Swirls

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. Don't get dizzy looking at it. :) The primary colours and graphic design are what inspired my clean and graphic card today.

Primary colours are just so fresh and fun in my opinion. They can sometimes give a project a kindergarten vibe, so for my card I used alcohol inks to keep the general look classy and grown up. Now that I look at it though...wouldn't it be great as a teacher thank you?

I created an alcohol ink panel using red, blue and yellow inks and once dry, die cut it using the Bold Stripes Cover-up die from My Favorite Things. The inked pieces were placed into a white panel cut using the same die and adhered to a white A2 card base. The Big Thanks sentiment from Concord & 9th was cut from black cardstock twice, glued together and popped up using foam tape right on the card. I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter all over the sentiment for sparkle and shine.
