The Card Concept #116- Pink Retro

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. I love the retro, musical feel to this picture!

You can't go wrong with a birthday card featuring the classic "Happy Birthday" song, can you? My very clean and simple card today features a pop of colour mirroring the inspiration photo and plays on the music theme.

On a panel of Yupo paper I created my design using alcohol inks and once dry, die cut with a large circle and adhered it to the white A2 card base. The sentiment was cut with black cardstock and a few sequins were scattered here and there. With a bunch of pre-made alcohol ink panels, you could easily make this card in a variety of colour ways. I love a good clean and simple card that is easy to mass produce!

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see how the rest of the team was inspired and what styles they used on their cards. Play along with us using any of the styles we highlight...I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Supplies:
Ink: Alcohol inks (Ranger)
Dies: Large circles (Spellbinders); Musical Happy Birthday (Poppy Stamps)
Paper: white A2 base, black cardstock (Simon Says Stamp); Yupo (Legion)
Other: sequins (Pretty Pink Posh)

The Card Concept #115 - Mosaic Madness

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. As soon as I saw this picture my mind immediately jumped to the gorgeous Grace Mandala die set by Birch Press Design and how it has been gathering dust in my crafty corner...time to put it to good use!

Time and again I fall to the clean and layered category of cardmaking. Fresh and bold, some depth and interest, all the while not being too basic.

There is a lot of die cutting on my card today! So. Much. Die cutting. After all the pieces were cut and adhered together, I layered them on a white A2 card base. The sentiment was die cut multiple times (more die cutting!) and stacked together for depth, and a simple stamped sentiment was added. A few enamel dots finish it off.

The Card Concept #114- Galoshes Galore

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. The row of colourful rubber boots and the fresh spring scene inspired the scene on my card today. It kind of feels like we've been getting a LOT of rain lately so this felt appropriate.

And here is my Clean & Layered card...

For my card today, I blended Distress Oxide inks on an A2 card base and added water droplets. All the stamped pieces from the ultra adorable Rainy Day set by Hello Bluebird were coloured with Copic markers and die cut using the coordinating dies, and adhered with foam tape. The sentiment is from a retired My Favorite Things set and was heat embossed using silver powder.
