Inspired by All the Little Things #30

We have another fabulous fall themed inspiration for you this week at Inspired by All the Little Things! I took that lovely autumn backdrop and the yummy beverages and combined them onto my creation.

A bit of creative masking, fussy cutting, and a thin black marker helped me to turn the leaves from the Maple Leaves Journaling card by Neat & Tangled into exactly the corner piece I needed for this card. A fun sentiment and a coffee cup from Caffeinated Cups by Reverse Confetti round out the inspiration. All colouring was done using Copic markers, and the stitched border and sequins really help finish it off.

I hope you'll play along this week! There are always so many ways to be inspired by these lovely photos each week. You can link up at the main blog and I can't wait to see what you come up with. :)
Have a great day!

CTS 195

I love a good sketch. File this one away under "use again x100." Sketches are great for taking creative liberties with but this time I stuck pretty close to the original.

I used watercolours and Ranger watercolour paper to create the main panel, and once dry I heat embossed my sentiment in THE most gorgeous embossing powder ever- Turkish Nights from WOW. After die cutting the panel with a stitched edge, I adhered it with foam tape to the card base.

There's still a bit of time to link up to CAS(E) this Sketch #195! Thanks for stopping in today, and have a great day!

Stamping Away October 2016

I was lucky enough last weekend to be able to fly to Kansas and spend a few days with some crafty cardmaking friends. This was the first time I've been able to do something like this, and I was beyond excited. I couldn't believe I was actually SEEING in person some of the kindest, most creative women I know. There were a lot of laughs, love, and widespread creativity.

Although I didn't do much actual cardmaking (since this was my first retreat experience I wasn't sure of what to bring and probably should have taken more), I did 'borrow' many stamps/die cuts to cut out for myself to take home. We also had several projects that our lovely hosts Laurie and Amy designed for us.

Partially finished rainbow banner. I completed it once I was home and it's hanging in my studio.

Peel off the vinyl monogram and BOOM! Fantastic mug!

So many new friends made and memories too. I'm so glad I could go. :)  I'll be back later this week with an actual card or two. My weekend away increased my crafty mojo!
Have a great day!

Inspired by #29

Autumn is in full force here in Southwestern Ontario and I love it. The colours, sounds and smells are just fabulous.  To quote my favourite redhead, "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."- Anne of Green Gables.

The photo inspiration for this week's Inspired by All the Little Things challenge is delightfully fall-ish. I used the Lacy Scallop Frame Confetti Cuts for the frame around my focal point, which is the Grateful, Thankful, Blessed Confetti Cuts, cut from gold foil paper. That foil paper doesn't photograph well and looks slightly green...no matter what I tried I couldn't fix it. Oh well. As always, it's realllllly pretty IRL.

Thanks for stopping in, and I hope you will play along with us this week at Inspired By. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Have a great day!

'Fetti Friend

I'm back with my final post as the October 'Fetti Friend for Reverse Confetti. The new release that I worked with (now available in the shop) is amazing and it's going to get quite a workout this holiday season.

I pulled out some older product to mix with the new Lacy Scallop Circles Confetti Cuts.

After die cutting the medium Lacy Scallop Circle I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI first with a dark blue ink, then again with Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder over top. Using a very light touch, I gently blended some light blue ink over the sentiment. I backed the Lacy Scallop Circle die with some gold sparkle paper and discovered the biggest Wreaths Confetti Cuts fits PERFECTLY behind it. Patterned paper, gold thread, a button, and the focal piece popped up with foam adhesive finish it off.

Thanks so much to Reverse Confetti for having me this month. I've enjoyed working with you and your amazing product! Have a great day everyone. :)

SFYTT

I'm back today with Reverse Confetti as one of the 'Fetti Friends this month, playing along with the October Sketch For You To Try aka SFYTT.

It's a good one!
Here's what I came up with...
I used the new Very Merry 6x6 patterned papers, layered snowflakes with the Snowflake Trio and Layered Snowflake Confetti Cuts, and heat embossed a sentiment from Christmas Blessings. The sparkly gold paired with kraft paper is a really pretty look!

Here's a closer look at the new products I used. They are all available now in the Reverse Confetti store.

Thanks for stopping in today, and don't forget to play along and link up your creation.

Inspired by All the Little Things #28

It's time for another fantastic Inspired by All the Little Things challenge! I found my inspiration in the textures and fall colours of this gorgeous picture.

Stamped and die cut flowers from the Flashy Florals set by My Favorite Things are popped up over a die cut circle and a layered background using a cover panel from Simon Says Stamp. The Painted Hugs die was heat embossed multiple times with Liquid Platinum powder for a really cool metallic look, and adhered using foam adhesive. A few enamel dots in coordinating colours finish it off.

Thanks for stopping in today and make sure you pop over the main blog to what the other design team members have come up with. I  hope you'll play along with us this week!

Focal points

I had some time this week to play along in one of my favourite challenges- Virginia's View. If you have not had the chance to check out Virginia's blog and/or Instagram feed GO do it. I love her use of colour and the many ways she can stretch one product. It's so inspiring.

This month the focus is on focal points. I took a basic approach to the challenge and centred my card around one main image/sentiment right in the middle of the card. The soft colours and white embossing *might* otherwise not stand out against the busy patterned paper, so vellum layered over top helps to keep the focus where it should be. Popping the sentiment up with foam adhesive makes it stand out a bit more as well.

You still have a few days to play along with this challenge! Give it a try. :) Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

Inspired by All the Little Things #27

The photo inspiration for today's Inspired by All the Little Things challenge is super fun. The colours stood out to me and the umbrellas reminded me of weather, which in turn led to my card...

I die cut the rainbow from End of the Rainbow by My Favorite Things, and coloured it with Copic markers. The cloud was cut from silver sparkle cardstock. After die cutting the 'thanks' sentiment I coloured it with Copics and stamped the rest in black ink.

Thanks for stopping in today! Play along with us at the Inspired By blog. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Have a great day!

Reverse Confetti Blog Hop

Today I'm helping the design team celebrate the Reverse Confetti October release with a fun blog hop! All the October release products are now available for purchase. You can find the entire blog list featuring the Confetti Crew at the bottom of this post.

I have a serious affection for cover plate dies, and this 2 Way Stripes cover panel goes right up there on the list of my favourite ones ever.

I cut the cover panel from several pieces of cardstock and pieced it all together. The gold glitter cardstock adds a fun touch and draws in the gold embossing on the sentiment from Naughty or Nice

Time to hop around to see all the amazing creations the Confetti Crew has come up with!

Reverse Confetti October release Sneak Peek #2

It's Day 2 of sneak peeks for the October release at Reverse Confetti and I'm helping them celebrate as the October 'Fetti Friend.  Today we are showcasing Vintage Ornaments and the coordinating Confetti Cuts. Elegant and fun all at the same time, this is one of my new favourite Christmas sets.

Using my MISTI, I heat embossed three of the ornaments in gold then blended Distress Inks over top and flicked on some water. After trimming the panel down slightly, I added some gold thread and the toppers die cut from the coordinating Vintage Ornament dies. The panel is adhered using foam tape to the card base.

It's Day 1 of sneak peeks for the October release at Reverse Confetti and I'm helping them celebrate as the October 'Fetti Friend.  Get ready for some serious cuteness!

Today we are showcasing Merry Christmoose and the coordinating Confetti Cuts.

So fun and cute!

I created a fun scene using the Merry Christmoose stamp set and coordinating dies on top of  a watercoloured background. Copic markers were used for the colouring, and some sparkle was added to the trees. A crisp black stamped sentiment and some sequins finish it off.
