CAS-ual Fridays Stamps New Release Day 1!

Yippee!! It's Day 1 of the January release for CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. I LOVE the sets being released this month. Seriously so fun, cute and full of love. The font choices, the mix and match options, swoon-worthy'll find out for yourself!

Today we're showcasing Mwah. I started with a white card base and blended pink inks in an ombre fashion down the front. The sentiment was stamped in black; the 'xo' was heat embossed in silver and there's even a peek of tomorrow's release...a nice red heart covered in Wink of Stella glitter and then coated with glossy accents. All in all a nice one layer card that would be easy to put together in a variety of colours.

Pop on over to the company blog to see more from the other talented designers and what Michele has to say about Mwah.  Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the next peek!

So Very (very, very!) Blessed

I have a non-Christmas card to share today even though I still have a pile to blog about. Actually, it was nice to set the holiday product aside and just make something FUN.  I cracked into some new goodies that I hadn't had a chance to play with yet and got to work!

For this card I took a piece of watercolor paper and some metallic watercolours and slopped (slopped is a technical term) some shimmery, shiny paint all across the main panel.  The orange has subtle shimmer but the silver really pops! Once it was dry I heat embossed the sentiment and added some clear sequins. It's very sparkly in real life!

I'm linking up to 2 challenges this week:

Have a great Sunday everyone! Thanks for stopping in !

2014 Cardmaking Favourites!

Welcome to my yearly instalment of my own favourite cards from 2014! The method of choosing these particular cards has no secret...I just liked them. A lot. Hence...favourites. :)
I will link up the original blog posts for each one.

Do you have a favourite here? Is there another card I made this year you liked more than the ones I've shown? What about YOUR own favourites that you have created? Link any of the above up if you'd like...just leave the link in my comments section because I'd love to go check it out.

Thank you ALL for stopping in today and checking out my favourites from 2014. I'll have another post coming soon with some of my cardmaking highlights from the past year.

Have a FANTASTIC day!

Bring on the Twinkle!

This post is brought to you by the lady who hasn't sat at her craft desk in a week. WAAHHH!!!  The most wonderful time of the year is also the busiest for a lot of us and I just haven't had the time to do some serious cardmaking lately. I really need to remedy that!

After temporarily adhering the snowflake stencil to a white card base, I blended Distress Inks over top, covering the entire card front. Then I stamped my sentiment, a few snowflakes and added some pretty glitter. The final touch was flicking a few splats of water over top.

Cure for the Monday Blues #36

I'm stepping away from my card making comfort zone and sharing a card today that is more involved than I usually attempt. You might look at this card and think...ummm... it's just a bunch of die is that involved? Folks, it's more work than I'm used to. I mean there was lots of die cutting, glueing, embossing AND stamping. Woah. Lol  :)

A lovely pattered paper background was my starting point, then came the die cuts. I have a basket on my desk full of bits and pieces that I haven't used yet and I love digging through it to find treasures that would work perfectly on my current creation. The sentiment was heated embossed with a really cool burgundy and gold powder by Stampendous. Love it!

I'm linking up to the Cure for the Monday Blues challenge #36. I took the wood grain as my inspiration, as well as the dangling ornaments and tried to incorporate both into my card today.

Thanks for stopping in today, and I hope your weekend is fabulous!
