Hi there Cardabilities fans!!  Isn't sketch 74 fun? Love those circles...so many options! I chose to use a border die and accent it with buttons. Very spring-like and cheery with sweet colours.  Head on over the Cardabilities blog and check out what the rest of the design team came up with...some GREAT inspiration there!

Ticket to Love

A long time ago I pinned a ticket holder project onto one of my Pinterest boards and though I loved the idea, it took me awhile to finally get around to recreating it myself! I've been a bit 'bored' with making cards lately and decided to alter a few things I have lying around the house. Now, I'm not GREAT at altering things, but it sure is fun!

Here's my very own version of a ticket holder. Inside the plastic page is a whole bunch of concert ticket stubs, movie tickets from special dates, special events tickets, etc.  All sorts of memorabilia that means a lot to me and hold special memories. I used a 6x6 scrapbook page holder I've had for a long time...can't remember the manufacturer, sorry!

Wedding stock-up

A local woman is getting married and I've had 6 requests for wedding cards in the last week! Knowing they were all going to the same person, I tried to make each one unique and special.  This particular card is more earthy with natural elements. I used a linen debossing plate, canvas flower, and cork stick pin all with a kraft/brown colour scheme.  I think it turned out quite pretty! Now I need to make MORE wedding cards to replenish my supply! Sounds like a great excuse to get crafty...

Ink: (Terracotta Tile) Papertrey Ink

FTL236 clean & simple!

How about Clean & Simple for today? Nothing makes me happier than a good sketch to follow, so I'm playing along with FTL236 this week.  I used an debossed card base, a piece of patterned paper, and some stickers to pull this card together. Along with a small spritz of shimmery spray mist and a few gems, the card was done!

Feathered Hello

This is one card that is most definitely going to be hand delivered.  I think if I mail this sucker it will cost a million dollars! That zipper flower is the coolest, funkiest embellishment I have ever seen, but it is HEAVY! I had to prop the card up just to take a picture of it. For this creation I took a very basic layout (one piece of patterned paper, a sentiment, a focal piece) and made it super fun and fancy with a over the top flower and feather combination!

Supplies:
Stamps: (Mini Blooms) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Versamark) Tsukineko
Paper: (Rustic Cream) Papertrey Ink; ('captured' from Maggie Holmes 6x6 collection) Crate Paper
Accents: (zipper flower) Prima; (feather) Bella Blvd.
Other: (black embossing powder) Ranger

Welcome Spring

I think it's safe to say that here in my little corner of the world, Spring has decided to stick around for awhile. :) I can finally take my son out to the bus stop and NOT wear mittens, thus enabling me to be able take my coffee with me...oh the small joys in life!

This card celebrates all things spring; keep in mind it is VERY sparkly and pretty in real life. The picture does not do it justice! I love making clean, simple, graphic cards like this one. Fussy is not in my nature. White space and pops of colour really draw my eye.

Supplies:
Stamps: (Wreath for All Seasons) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Melon Berry) Papertrey Ink
Cardstock: (White, kraft, Lemon Tart, Spring Rain, Melon Berry, Lavender Moon) Papertrey Ink

Hello There

Perhaps growing up on a chicken farm has endeared me to feathers for the rest of my life.
Jewelry with feathers, headpieces, bright coloured children's craft feathers, even collecting feathers outside on a walk with my daughter...I just adore them!
I love the feather trend right now in the crafting industry.

Here are some of my current favourite feathery products...

Here's a card I recently made using the adorable feather image from the Smitten stamp set by Mama Elephant. I stamped it 3 times in different colours, stamped the sentiment, spritzed it with Smooch spray mist, and mounted it to a Rustic Cream card base.  Here's to feathery crafting for all of you! :)

Supplies:
Cardstock: (Rustic Cream) Papertrey Ink
Clear Stamps: (Hello There from Good Times, feather from Smitten) Mama Elephant
Ink: (Ocean Tides, Terracotta Tile, Summer Sunrise) Papertrey Ink

Blissful Vintage Bliss

Hello my name is Marcie and I am a patterned paper collector.
I love it. I hoard it. I have a new favorite all the time. It is a real problem.
(So says my husband, but what does HE know?! NOTHING I tell ya!!!)
I adore the new Vintage Bliss collection by Simple Stories. Sooooo pretty and feminine. Bright enough to catch my eye and with so many vintage, adorable elements, like that bike up there.
I looooove bikes with baskets of flowers. It's my weakness...in fact I just snagged an old bike for my garden that I'm going to spray paint Watermelon Pink and plant flowers in its basket.
Can't wait until the finished project is done!

This card is so basic and easy that I feel like explaining it takes more time than it did to actually make the card! I adhered a journaling card to the pre-made card base, added some stickers and enamel dots and voila! Done.

Supplies:
Accents: (journaling card and stickers from Vintage Bliss collection) Simple Stories; (enamel dots) Making Memories
Other: (premade card base) DCWV

Thanks so much

Colour combination look familiar? Here's a reject from the recent September/October 2013 submission call by Paper Crafts magazine.  I created it for the Colors of Fall category using great colour combos found on Pinterest. Don't feel too bad for me though, because I did get 2 other cards picked up! It's always exciting to find out your work will be published. :)

Truthfully, I'd almost forgotten about that delightful Edgers die that I used on the top of the card. I really MUST remember to not throw new supplies directly in a drawer where they'll be forgotten!
Speaking of new supplies...I made a trip to my fave LSS yesterday and picked up some delightful patterned papers and other fabulous goodies. I LOVE the Paper Pickle!! They ordered in the new Doodlebug Designs Take Note collection for me along with some matching embellishments. Sooooo accommodating, friendly, and now with a bigger space to shop in too!
