It's time for my annual Favourite Cards of 2013 review! I have picked one card from every month's worth of blog posts and shared it here. You will notice I am not picky as to what companies I stamp with... I just love stamping. period. :) Ranging from clean and simple to lots of papers and layers, I like to try new techniques and have fun with it. The cards today feature stamps from Papertrey Ink, Simon Says Stamp, Unity Stamp Co., Neat & Tangled, Paper Smooches and Mama Elephant.
I hope 2014 brings me even more stamping, crafty fun (cross my fingers, oh plllllease Santa bring me gift certificates to my favourite craft stores!!) and Merry Christmas to you all!
I love using favourite products from all sorts of companies and bringing them all together on one card! This card is probably one of my favourite cards that I have made this Christmas season. I used a barn board background, wreath/bow die cut, banner die and sentiment and paired it with a little chalkboard, rustic feel.
Using die cuts can make your holiday cards come together in a snap. I like to save time by running a few different dies at a time through my Grand Calibur machine...all those extra pieces can be used on another card sometime!
How appropriate is this card for celebrating deer hunting season in our neck of the woods? I myself am a lover of Bambi, Rudolph (the rest of Santa's crew too!) and all other cute, soft, sweet looking deer. I'm blessed to live in the country where I can sit on my deck and see them down the hill of my backyard. My husband however, LOVES deer hunting week. He goes out with his 'guys' and they spend the week traipsing through the woods, sometimes successful, sometimes not so much. I keep my opinions about this to myself.
This one layer, quick and easy card was slipped into hubby's pocket this morning. Hopefully the 'guys' don't tease him too much about it. :) I couldn't help myself *giggle*. I'm linking up this week to Friends with Flair over on the Unity blog. Go check out the rest of the great creations there!
If you happened to have received your copy of Paper Crafts Stamp It! Card Challenges, then flip on through to the 'mist over heat embossing' section and check out my Grateful Beyond Measure card!
A fun fact about this card- I used a stamp set that I won from Paper Crafts January Gallery Challenge. The awesome Wall to Wall Textures set by Bo Bunny was the gift that kept on giving. Also used was one of my fave Mama Elephant stamp sets, Hello. Love it. This is a GREAT issue sure to challenge you to get more out of your stamps, ink and basic stamping supplies; it's a keeper for sure!
