Snowflakes sparkle

It's getting colder and colder here in Ontario and what is better to celebrate that (Celebrate cold? Really?!), than a pretty, wintery card in soft shades of purple and blue, just perfect for a winter's day! I enjoyed making this card because I knew the end result would be one I loved! I softened the edges with Fresh Snow ink and gave the background a subtle texture with the Canvas & Linen impression plate. The pop of dark purple really makes this card eye catching IRL.

C4C164- Put a Bow on it!

This weekend we had the first snow of the season here in my area of South western Ontario, and boy did we ever have fun playing outside on Sunday!!  It was a busy weekend for our family and it flew by quickly, but lots of happy memories were made.  We all had to drag our butts out of bed this morning and momma is on her 3rd coffee already. :)

The card I'm sharing today was created for the Crazy 4 Challenges- put a BOW on it challenge. Link it up on your blog or SCS under the keyword C4C164.  All you had to do was (if it's not already clear to you...) put a bow on it. :) I used a really nice, thick linen ribbon that I topped with a button and twine.  Papers are the Sleigh Ride collection by Crate Paper (LOVE this collection!!).

Sweet Baby Boy

I gasped out loud when I first saw the Little Boy Blue collection by Crate Paper. The boyish colours, the adorable patterns...it all mixes together to create baby boy perfection! I used some of those papers on the card shown, as well as a leftover bingo card from a long ago Making Memories collection.  There have been a few baby girls born in the area lately, but I figure it's only a short time before a boy makes an appearance...maybe in January when my brother and sister-in-law's little one arrives? Can't wait to find out if that cutie pie is a niece or nephew! :)

Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (Little Boy Blue) Crate Paper; (Spring Rain) Papertrey Ink

A Simple Christmas

The easiest of easy Christmas cards...mostly one layer, simple stamping, a basic embellishment, and it packs a pretty punch! This card sparkles beautifully in real life; the glitter card base was from a box by Die Cuts With a View.  I love keeping my cards simple this time of year.  Who has time in our busy lives to put a lot of fuss and muss into each and every holiday card we create? Not me! Choose a simple design, a few supplies to keep at your fingertips, and have fun! :)

Party Like a Rockstar!

I'm always trying to come up with ideas for teenage birthday cards! Pairing that Wonderland Stars mask with the rockin' pink guitar and a very cool sentiment seemed to work perfectly for this card, and I think a teen aged girl would find it quite acceptable!! :)

Winter Wonderland

I'm not a big fan of traditional Christmas or holiday cards.  I prefer bright and bold shades of pink, lime and turquoise, or the opposite end of the spectrum- neutrals and rustic looks. I went with the latter on this card, pulling out my new wooden snowflakes from Studio Calico, using a wintery sentiment and keeping my layout simple.

Now that I'm full into mass production of holiday and seasonal cards, I find it easier to line up a bunch of label dies on my cutting plate and run them through the Grand Calibur all at once. I know those extra pieces will come in handy at some point during my card making! Any quick and easy card making tips to share for this time of the year?

Ink: (Dark Chocolate) Papertrey Ink

Celebrate the Season!

Clean and simple, one layer cards are always fun to make, and even better, easy and inexpensive to mail! So often we make big and bulky cards that feature pretty ribbon, buttons and other thick embellishments...beautiful? Yes.  Cheap to mail? No!  When you have lots of cards to send out to family and friends this holiday season, try coming up with a few card layouts that feature stamping as the focal point- it will save your wallet when it comes time to mail them all!

This card is for the Crazy 4 Challenges-C4C162 challenge.  Head on over and the other Christmas inspiration there!

Birthdays stand still

After a barrage of fall birthdays, we are at a birthday stand-still in our house for a few weeks anyway.  A few important December birthdays to celebrate, then a bunch in January, but for right now I'm busy trying to replenish my female birthday card pile! Here is a quick one that I put together using papers, journal card, and chipboard from the Emma's Shoppe collection by Crate Paper. I love the feminine feel to this line; gorgeous patterns and colours aplenty!

Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko

Making Spirits BRIGHT!

Here's my first Christmas card of the season! I've made quite a few by now and was dragging my feet to post one, but it's time to start showing some of that Christmas craftiness so we can all be inspired by each other right?! :) I'm really addicted to the Hero Arts neon inks right now and figured the sentiment 'making spirits bright' quite applied to this card. It's clean and simple, almost one layer, and bright and bold- all my favourites in one!!

Ink: (Neon Green) Hero Arts; (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko

Neon Hello

Here's something SUPER bright and blinding on this early Sunday morning! How's that time change affecting you all? Everyone loves an extra hour of sleep, right? Unless you have kids...which I do.  Which means they were up at 6 a.m.  NOT GOOD. Lol

I used the Portfolio collection of stamps from Pink Paislee for this clean and graphic card. I stamped several of the stamps in neon inks, then stamped the sentiment in black, cut it out, and popped it up. The end result is a colourful, one layer card that will blind the recipient. :)

Supplies:
Stamps: (Portfolio) Pink Paislee
Cardstock: (white) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Neon Pink, Neon Green, Neon Blue) Hero Arts; (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
