Wild Wedding!

There's a lot happening on this card, and truthfully, it's not one of my best efforts.  Maybe it's a little toooo much going on, all on one A2 sized card!  Glittery paper, glittery embossing powder, wild animal prints in bright colours, lacy doilies, romantic sentiment...on just one wedding card!  Here's my two sweeties in a wedding this past weekend. The bride and groom (the bride is my husband's cousin) received the above card.  It was a lovely day and fun was had by all!!

Stamps: (Love Lives Here, Delightful Doilies) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Hibiscus Burst, True Black) Papertrey Ink; (silver) Tsukineko
Paper: (white) Papertrey Ink; (animal print) Michael's; (black glossy) misc.

Hey There Little Lady!

I can't help but saying that cute sentiment out loud with a Texas drawl, although I'm SURE my Texas drawl sounds NOTHING like what one actually sounds like. I'm more of a MUM, EH? and ABOOT kind of Canadian girl. :) None the less, I tried to incorporate a western, with a touch (or a LOT) of girly, 'feel' to this card. I think it worked! Back in the Saddle is one stamp set that I just can't put away (or in reality, give back to my mom, whom I borrowed it from).

Supplies:
Stamps: (Back in the Saddle, border from Way Out West) Waltzingmouse Stamps
Ink: (Kraft, Fresh Snow) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (kraft) Papertrey Ink; (patterned paper from The Sweetest Thing collection) My Mind's Eye
Other: (button, ribbon) misc.; (twine) The Twinery; (aqua Zing embossing powder) American Crafts

Chuggining into TWO

Chugging along for a 2nd birthday! Here's a mish mash of product put together for a little boy birthday card.  Lots of Papertrey Ink product being used here; my favourite is that cute little train from the Train Tracks set.  I love that Gable Green spray mist from Studio Calico! It's so bright on kraft paper and I think it will be a nice combination on Christmas cards too.

Two is a fun age, but busy busy busy! No terrible twos in our house for my kids...we just skipped right over to the torturous, terrible, demanding, tantrum-filled THREES. :) Thankfully, it seems like that is almost done and over with.

Supplies:
Stamps: (sentiment from Birthday Basics, train from Train Tracks) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Hawaiian Shores, True Black) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (Kraft, white, Orange Zest) Papertrey Ink; (green paper from Little Boy Blue collection) Crate Paper
Other: (impression plate, train die cut, Mat Stack die) Papertrey Ink; ('2' Thicker) American Crafts; (Mr. Huey's spray) Studio Calico

Yee Haw!

Yee Haw, it's your birthday! I for one, would LOVE to get a fun, cute card like this on my next birthday!  I've been pulling out the old embossing gun lately and heat embossing on some of my projects. I forgot how fun that technique can be.  On this card, I used Zing embossing powder for the very middle sentiment on the card, while the rest are just stamped regularly.  That bright aqua really pops nicely! How fun are Waltzingmouse Stamps? I've been playing around a bit with the fun Back in the Saddle set, and I've been busy drooling over the other lovelies on their site!

Supplies:
Stamps: (Back in the Saddle, cactus, sheriff badge from Way out West) Waltzingmouse Stamps
Ink: (Summer Sunrise, Kraft, Lavender Moon, Hibiscus Burst, Simply Chartreuse, True Black) Papertrey Ink; (Versamark) Tsukineko
Paper: (white) Papertrey Ink

McQueen machine!

Here is a quick and easy one layer birthday card that is simple to mass produce. I used an 8.5x11 sheet of white cardstock, sprayed it with various colours of spray mists, then once it was dry, stamped my image and sentiment repeatedly.  Now I have a cute card, plus lots of paper left over for more projects.  What little boy (or girl!) doesn't love Lightening McQueen?! Although in THIS house, we are Tow Mater fans... :)

Supplies:
Stamps: (McQueen) EK Success; (sentiment from Birthday Basics) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (white, True Black) Papertrey Ink
Other: (Gable Green spray mist) Studio Calico; (blue spray mist) Tattered Angels; (red spray mist) Clearsnap

So blessed

This past Sunday was Grandparent's Day and I made this card for my mother-in-law who has us over every single Sunday for supper. She does all the prep and clean up and doesn't usually allow us to help her! I just love her dearly; she's an amazing woman and wonderful grandma (don't call her that though! She likes 'Granna').  My kids also made her cute little cards with stickers aplenty!
I used a journal card from the Generations collection by Simple Stories as the main panel on my card.  One 12x12 sheet has 6 journal cards on it, and hence, 6 possible cards to be made! Add a few extra embellishments to them and you're done!

Supplies:
Paper: (kraft) Papertrey Ink; (Generations collection) Simple Stories
Other: (button, twine) Papertrey Ink; (scalloped music note sticker from Baby Steps collection) Simple Stories; (Die-namics Paper Doll Border) My Favorite Things

Bandaids make everything better!

Here's a bright, cheery card to brighten someones day if they're not feeling well! I think get well cards should be happy and cute; hopefully it puts the person receiving it in a better mood and takes their mind off being sick.

Echo Park's Hello Summer collection of papers is still being used in my craft corner.  Those chevron patterns will lend themselves to crafting all year long- don't be fooled by the name of the collection!
I love that band aid sticker so much that I bought 3 of them, just knowing I'd put them to good use! Here's some Scooby Doo band aids I bought for my kids the other day...they seem to make "ouchies" a little more bearable! :)
Supplies:
Stamps: (Sentiment Sampler) Paper Smooches
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (Hawaiian Shores) Papertrey Ink; (Hello Summer collection) Echo Park
Other: (band aid sticker) Doodlebug Designs; (journal card) Echo Park; (rickrack gems) misc.

Owls owls owls

Who doesn't love cute little owls on a baby card?! I've been pulling out older paper collections lately, trying to use up some of the stash to make room for new stuff. :) Sometimes there's just enough pieces left to put together a cutesy card like this one.  I'm entering this card in the Repetition Challenge in the Moxie Fab World; those 3 owls are obviously my repeating element.  Have a happy weekend everyone!

Supplies:
Paper: (Vintage Cream) Papertrey Ink; (Baby Steps collection) Simple Stories
Other: (doily) Freckled Fawn; (owl stickers) Simple Stories; (button, twine) Papertrey Ink

More Asymmetry!

Another entry in the Asymmetry Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!!  I'm having fun trying out all these design basics! Here I've kept my card one layer, stamping my flower design from top to bottom of the card, with an element off to the right side. The button is really melon coloured IRL, just looks a little orange-y here. This could easily be done (and quickly too) in SO many colour combinations! Just change up the sentiment too and you're good for any occasion!

Supplies:
Stamps: (Simply You) Papertrey Ink; (Two Steppin' in the Garden) Technique Tuesday
Ink: (Spring Moss, Winter Wisteria, Melon Berry, Royal Velvet) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (Vintage Cream) Papertrey Ink
Other: (button, twine) Papertrey Ink; (gem) Kaisercraft

Asymmetry Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

I'm playing along in the Asymmetry Challenge in the Moxie Fab World with the card shown here.  Now, I'm not sure if I reallllly understand the concept of asymmetry, but I sure tried!! I mean, I think I nailed it with one card, then I look at the examples in the gorgeous Card Design Handbook and am not so sure after all.  Regardless, it's fun playing along by getting crafty and entering challenges!
