Stay on the Sunny Side

Can you believe it's the end of July already? Our first month of summer vacation just flew by and now we have another 4 weeks before school starts.  My summer has been incredibly busy so far, so I'm hoping August will bring some relaxation, beach days and general loafing around! :)
Here's a colourful card with a generic sentiment that will do for many occasions! I used my Up, Up & Away stamp set, along with the sentiment set, from Papertrey Ink to ink up the balloons (with matching die!) and sentiment. I just love the blues and orange-y yellows in this Sunny Side collection by Pebbles.

Supplies:
Stamps: (Up, Up & Away, and Sentiments) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Simply Chartreuse, Enchanted Evening) Papertrey Ink; (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (White) Papertrey Ink; (Sunny Side collection) Pebbles Inc.
Other: (cloud die) My Favorite Things; (balloon die) Papertrey Ink; (gems) Kaisercraft

Champagne on ice!

I just adore this cheery, fun, bright card! It could be used for many occasions too, which is the best kind of card to have on hand.  I'm seeing it used for a friend celebrating a new job, but really, the possibilities are endless. :) Yellow and purple is such a great colour combo; my love of those paired together probably stems way back to elementary school and my school colours! Points to note about the card- I used my Bow Easy tool to make the bow since I usually fail miserably in an attempt to do it on my own. :) Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Supplies:
Stamps: (Champagne) River City Rubber Works
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (white) Papertrey Ink; (yellow chevron from Hello Summer) Echo Park
Other: (gems) Kaisercraft; (ribbon) Papertrey Ink

Better together

Better together- wouldn't that be a sweet card for your BFF? :) Maybe that's what I'll save it for! I still can't put down the last remaining remnants from my Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection by American Crafts. I'm down to bits and tiny pieces but I'm sure I can find some use for them! Happy Friday to you all...my brother is getting married tomorrow in my parent's backyard (right next door) and I'm anxiously counting the hours until the wedding begins. I can't WAIT to see him and his beautiful bride say their I-dos! I hope everyone else has a fabulous weekend too. :)

Supplies:
Stamps: (Tiny Tags) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Smokey Shadow) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (white, Sweet Blush) Papertrey Ink; (Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection) American Crafts

Moments that matter

Today I'm quickly posting this Father's Day card I made for my husband a few weeks ago. I'm in a hurry because I'm headed off for a birthday spa day with my mom- her treat! Massage, manicure and pedicure...I can't WAIT!
Of course, Father's Day rolled around and my husband was away on business so I didn't need to give him a card the actual day of.  Once he returned home though, I realized I'd forgotten to make him one and whipped this one up in a hurry.  Not my best effort, but it gets the point across. :)

Supplies:
Stamps: (Gone Fishin') Technique Tuesday
Ink: (Chamomile, Chai, Dark Chocolate, Hawaiian Shores) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (Rustic Cream) Papertrey Ink
Other: (washi tape) My Mind's Eye

Wedding Wishes

Pink doilies delight me! I picked up a package from the Freckled Fawn and I'm using them sparingly so I never run out, lol.  That combo of soft pink, white and aqua just WORKS.  I can't get enough of that white ribbon also; I pick some up each time I'm at the Paper Pickle! It's easy to tie into a bow, and dies beautifully with Copic reinkers so you can make it any colour you want. Maybe I'll save this card for my brother's upcoming wedding. It's next Saturday and I'm so happy for his and his bride-to-be! They are a wonderful couple and so perfectly suited for each other. :)

Supplies:
Stamps: (Tiny Tags II) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (Sweet Day collection) Echo Park
Other: (ribbon) misc.; (flower) Kaisercraft; (twine) The Twinery; (tag from Tiny Tags die) Papertrey Ink; (stick pin) American Crafts; (doily) Freckled Fawn

Fab 50!

Here's a wild and crazy 50 and Fabulous card today! Paper Crafts magazine asked for milestone birthdays in their latest call and I submitted this one as well as a few others. It wasn't chosen, but boy will it be fun to give someone! I used this amazing zebra print paper by Recollections from Michael's that is sooooo glittery IRL.  I just love it. There was a black and blue zebra print I picked up as well that I can't wait to use!

Stamps: (Big Birthday Wishes) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Versamark) Tsukineko
Paper: (White, True Black, Raspberry Fizz, Silver Shimmer) Papertrey Ink; (B&W Zebra) Recollections

Pre-school thanks

My daughter had her last day of daycare for the summer last week and so I created 2 of the above cards; one for each of her teachers. I love how bright and colourful they turned out- just perfect for someone teaching pre-schoolers.  I used a stamp set, ink, cardstock, and button from Papertrey Ink, doily from Freckled Fawn and patterned paper is miscellaneous from my stash.

A little birdie told me!

I'm finally getting around to playing with a newer stamp set that I have had for awhile but haven't inked up yet! Tweet Talk is just so cute; I can see using it for a hundred reasons (or more!). Here I kept the card soft and sweet with a strip of washi tape and a spritz of Mr. Huey's Shine spray...I originally made it for my brother and his fiancee but it's maybe too cute and sweet for them. I'll set it aside and save it for someone else!

Happy for you!!

The Washi Workshop at Studio Calico has wrapped up but I came away with MANY great and fun new ideas for how to use washi tape. Here I've put my newfound knowledge to the test and created a card using washi tape as my patterned background. I covered a piece of cardstock with tape, then trimmed it and rounded the corners.  The EK Success heart punch was used to punch the shape out (I reserved it for another card sometime), then I popped up the washi piece and covered the card base underneath with coordinating tape. Some ribbon and a tag with a happy sentiment and that's all!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Canada Day holiday!
