It's your Birthday!!

I know two sweet babies who are going to be turning one next week (their mamas- friends of mine-  made it easy by having them on the same day so if I remember one of their birthdays I'm bound to remember the other one too!) and so I created a card that was girly and sweet for one of the special little ones! This one will go in the mail and the other (which I'll post in a few days) is going to be hand delivered.
I just LOVED the Notched Flower die by Papertrey Ink that came out during the April release. I used it with oooollllddd Imaginisce papers from the Lucy Bird collection. The inside is covered with white paper, a strip of the pink patterned paper and a great big die cut 1 (just in case the wee one doesn't know how old she is...). :)

Supplies:
Stamps: (Hello, Friend) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (Lucy Bird collection) Imaginisce; (white, black) Papertrey Ink
Other: (Notched Flower dies, button) Papertrey Ink; (crystal flourish) Zva; (twine) The Twinery

FWF at Unity

Friday!!! Wooooohoooo. Who I am kidding...I'm a SAHM so all the days of the week are like Friday to me (don't throw things at me, I'm just kidding!!).  Friday is Friends with Flair at the Unity blog so here is my card for the week.  I used year.o.graphy-best day stamped right onto the patterned paper, added some twine tied in a bow and gems, inked the edges and done! Easy peasy! Enjoy your day everyone, and have a fabulous weekend too!

Stamps: (year.o.graphy-best day) Unity Stamp Co.
Ink: (hibiscus burst, dark chocolate, chai) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (Fabulous collection) Simple Stories

Mum's special day

Mother's Day is fast approaching and I've been busy making LOTS of Mother's Day cards for a local shop that is selling my handmade creations.  I really like how that black flower journalling card pops against the blue floral paper.  That Prima flower is so sparkly and pretty IRL.

I'm asking for a spa day for Mother's Day...an overnight one! Last time I had a manicure and massage I had to stop and get groceries on the way home.  It kind of negated any relaxing that was done earlier. :)  Cross your fingers for me!

Supplies:
Stamp: (Tiny Tags II) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Chamomile, Aqua Mist, True Black) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (Vintage Cream) Papertrey Ink; (Miss Caroline- Dilly Dally collection) My Mind's Eye
Other: (Tiny Tags die, twine) Papertrey Ink; (flower) Prima; (flower journal card) misc.

Forget Housework

I looooove this card.  Forget housework? Um, OK! I adore the sheer joy on this woman's face as she throws chores out the window and grabs herself a big ol' cocktail.  She would be my friend if she was real.  Actually, I think I already have a few friends like this. :) I kept my layout simple because really, the image is the central point of the card anyway. The fun image is from Crafty Secrets and although it's a few years old, they do carry similar ones on their website.

Supplies:
Paper: (Miss Caroline-Howdy Doody collection) My Mind's Eye
Other: (Girlfriend Creative Scraps) Crafty Secrets; (resin flowers) Kaisercraft; (Spica glitter marker) Copic

Kind of looks like last week's FWF entry doesn't it? :) Well, I created about 6 cards at a time with the same papers, embellishments and Unity stamps, so you'll be seeing lots of similar looking cards for the next few Fridays!!  One again, I used my wonderful Stamp of the Week- ...blooming mama's day this time.

Mother's Day

I've been busy making Mother's Day cards to prepare for an upcoming sale I'm doing, and boy has it been fun.  Now that I'm a mom I'm finding it's easy to make cards for other moms. :) I just make what I would like to receive myself.

This card using a little bit of everything leftover in my stash.  I have a little bucket on my desk where random brads, buttons, flower, die cuts, stick pins, etc. end up if I've pulled them out or opened them up and decided not to use them.  I just reach in every once in awhile and see if anything would work on the current card I'm creating. This time there were a few things that fit!

Supplies:
Stamps: (Celebrate Everyday) Hero Arts
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (Aqua Mist) Papertrey Ink; (Miss Caroline- Dilly Dally collection (My Mind's Eye)
Other: (butterfly) misc.; (staples, turquoise brad) Making Memories; (scalloped circle punch) Marvy; (stick pin) American Crafts

FWF at Unity

Another Friday and I'm linking up to FWF over on the Unity Blog.  I love when I get the time to do this! I've been using my Unity stamps a lot lately, usually pairing them up with some amazing papers from Simple Stories. This time I've used the Fabulous collection whose name speaks for itself!! I just loooove the pinks and aquas, with pops of orange and chartreuse. Not to mention the peace signs! It's just so beautiful. :)

Supplies:
Stamps: (Enjoy This Day) Unity Stamp Co.
Ink: (Dark Chocolate) Papertrey Ink

New Couple

Easter is over and it's time for me to start creating other cards meant for spring! How about a springtime wedding? I love this paper by My Mind's Eye from the Follow Your Heart collection.  The hexagons are just so trendy and easy to cut out.  Here I cut out a piece of the paper, added my sentiment and a die cut butterfly and that was about it!

Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (white) Papertrey Ink; (Follow Your Heart- Be Happy collection) My Mind's Eye

Easter Greetings

Happy Easter to all! I realize that tomorrow is the actual day of, but I plan on being surrounded by family and food and fun then, with no time to blog! :) So here is my Easter card to you...a simple, limited layers kind of card that is fresh and has a pop of colour. I masked the one egg and stamped them and added the grass die on top.  It turned out very cheery and sweet!

Ink: (Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise) Papertrey Ink; (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Paper: (white, Aqua Mist, Spring Moss) Papertrey Ink

Paint chip pretties

I'm planning on painting my bathroom this spring, and while I was in my local hardware store picking out some paint chips for inspiration, I decided to grab a few for crafty purposes too.  The card was easy to put together- just stamped my background, cut the chip on an angle and added the other touches. :) Easy peasy!

Since it's been so lovely and springlike here (or at least it was a week or so ago, today it's a little chilly!!) our family took advantage of lots of outdoors time.  Here's Robin 'snail hunting' in my gardens.  I don't know what the fascination is with those slimy things, but I think she's imagining lots of snail family reunions and parties. :)

Supplies:
Stamps: (Mega Mixed Messages, Background Basics: Woodgrain) Papertrey Ink
Ink: (Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko; (New Leaf) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (white, New Leaf) Papertrey Ink
Other: (circle punch) EK Success; (gem branch) Zva; (Paint chip) misc.

Glorious Spring Wishes

Another card using Flower Soft! I've never used the stuff, and now two cards in a row! :) I stamped my tree base and toppers three times, then dabbed glue here and there on the branches.  I sprinkled Flower Soft over the glue, gently pressed down on it to make sure it 'stuck', the shook off the excess.  All edges are inked with Chamomile ink.

Supplies:
Stamps: (Tree Tops) Papertrey Ink; (Spring Baskets) Waltzingmouse Stamps
Ink: (Chamomile, Kraft, Spring Moss, Berry Sorbet) Papertrey Ink
Paper: (Lemon Tart, White) Papertrey Ink; (Miss Caroline Howdy Doody collection) My Mind's Eye
Other: (Flower Soft)
