All Things Unity #43

Let's get BUGGY with All Things Unity #43!! That's right, this challenge calls for pulling out your Unity or Ippity stamps that feature BUGS. Butterflies, dragonflies, any sort of insect will do. Headed on over to the All Things Unity blog to get all the fine details about how to play along in this fun challenge and to see what the design team has come up with.  I used the May 2009 Kit of the Month and created my own background by stamping the dragonfly in different colours repeatedly over the cardstock.  I added some glitter to the centers and inked the edges white for a softer look.  I also inked the card base edges and glittered up my sentiment...after all, there can never be enough glitter!! :) Have a great day everyone!

This was a easy to put together card that will be great for mass producing, AND won't cost extra postage.  Perfect for the holidays! I chose to use a card by Maile Belles for my inspiration.  She takes simple, elegant stamping to a whole new level! I changed up my card by using one of the tags from PTI's Holiday Tag collections, and I added a coloured cardstock card base.

More Simple Stories! :) This time a sweet baby card made using products from the Baby Steps collection.  I love this collection for the vintage, soft, sweetness of it all.  It makes making baby cards so fun and easy!

I'm kind of getting used to this 'no stamping' thing, although I know that Simple Stories carries stamps that match several of their paper collections through Unity Stamp Co.  That could get me in trouble!!!  I hear the VISA hiding right now! :)  More stickers layered on cardstock- a touch of glitter and inked edges.  Love it!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Simple Happy Birthday

I love Simple Stories. That's all, have a good day. :) Ah- just kidding.  I have LOTS to say about one of my new favourite companies... I recently picked up some stickers and the 6x6 paper pad from the Happy Day collection and I'm loving it for creating some masculine, fun birthday cards.  Simple was better for this layout- using just stickers layered on cardstock made for a quick and easy card that has a little sparkle (not too much though).

Spreading Christmas Cheer

My first Christmas card for the season...I guess it's time to start thinking about that if I'm going to send any out on time this year! I only have 2 sales this fall to sell my cards at, so I don't need to produce as many as the last few years. I think this community is getting out of doing sales as they are a lot of work to organize, and not many of the 'younger' people appreciate them (although I DO!!).  This card is mostly flat and therefore easy to mail; something a lot of 'buyers' look for.

ATU#42 BINGO!!

Are you here to see my creation for another All Things Unity challenge?!  If so, welcome!  This challenge focuses on the popular BINGO game; the rules and the bingo card can be found over on the challenge blog.  The bingo line I chose to use features glimmer mist, buttons, twine and die cuts....or at least that's how I interpreted i!  I stamped the Love Builds a Home image and coloured in a bit of it with Copic markers and paper pieced the trees.  This turned out to be such a soft, pretty card! Another boy card...I made about a dozen of these!!  Has it really been a week since I last posted??  Yikes...I promise not to be a stranger; the week was busy with my son's 5th birthday celebrations and Canadian Thanksgiving.  Busy, but full of LOVE. :) I like weeks like that.

Birthday Boy!

With my son in a kindergarten class that is full of boys (not just boys, but still, there are a LOT of them!), some child-friendly, boyish birthday cards are needed around here!  The Alphabet Soup collection by My Mind's Eye is not new by any means, but I've had it for just those occasions when I need a good ol' boy card.  I think this time with the collection sitting out on my desk I made about 8 cards and still had lots of scraps and diecuts left for future use!  My felt star turned out a little wonky...as I was looking at my stash, I realized I don't own a star punch, or any star dies.  THAT will have to be remedied for sure! Shopping trip? I think so! :)

I'm finally getting around to using my Bundle of Love set from Papertrey Ink.  I just love how sweet it is, and the font is so pretty! The ultra-girly chipboard accents from the Emma's Shoppe collection by Crate Paper make this baby girl card complete!

ATU#41- Feeling Inspired?

All Things Unity this week is taking inspiration straight from the pages of your favourite magazines! I chose the October 2011 cover of Vogue magazine, and went with the Marilyn Monroe-esque theme.  I kept the colour scheme, added glitter, pearls and rhinestones (although I think diamonds were more up Marilyn's alley...) and went with a feminine stamp/sentiment combination.
