This Hoedown is Out of This World!!

Happy Hambo Hoedown! This week's challenge is out of this world!! :) Head on over to the challenge blog to see how the Bacon Bits paired the too-cute-to-be-scary Alien Spaceship digi with lots of DIMENSION.  That's right, we want to see your creations with a Hambo image showcasing dimension on your project.  You'll get all the nitty gritty details over there at the Hoedown's main post so go check it out!
I coloured my cute Alien with Copic markers, using some Spica glitter markers here and there for sparkle and shine.  Then I used TWO layers of foam dimensionals to really set him off the card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Alien Spaceship-digi (Hambo)
Ink: Copic markers, Spica glitter markers
Paper: True Black, white, New Leaf (Papertrey Ink); My Little Monster's collection (Daisy Bucket's)
Other: pearls (Kaisercraft); foam dimensionals

Birdie congrats

White embossing powder pops so brilliantly against almost every other colour and I always forget how stunning it can look! The Take Three series by Papertrey Ink lends perfectly to embossing and this pretty little bird from the 'Summer' edition is wonderful for a wedding card.  I used a embossing clean-up cloth to wipe my cardstock first so none of those nasty white particles would show up elsewhere on my card, stamped the image in Versamark and embossed with the powder! The gems were clear to begin with and didn't look quite right, so I used my W-5 marker to colour them the right shade of black.

I hope everyone is falling back into their back to school routines nicely.  We still have a week before my little guy goes back to Kindergarten.  Very exciting! This week will consist of new shoe shopping and of course, a fancy new backpack!  :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Take Three: Summer (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black, Versamark (Tsukineko); Copic marker
Paper: White, Blueberry Sky (Papertrey Ink)
Other: gems (Kaisercraft); white embossing powder

Write On! Another Hoedown!

Not only is today another exciting Hambo Hoedown over on the Hambo challenge blog BUT there is also a new rubber release to celebrate! Click on this link to check out all the new goodies!

Now onto the Hoedown details! My card uses the Pencil-digi and follows this week's Hoedown challenge which is to use PRIMARY colours.  If you don't remember your kindergarten lesson, that's red, blue and yellow. :)  I coloured it up with Copic markers and paired it with several papers from various October Afternoon collections.  I thought and thought about an appropriate sentiment and finally settled on 'Write On' thinking I may use this card to give my son's teacher on the first day of school to celebrate the new school year. We don't start school here in Ontario until September 7!

So head on over to the challenge blog to get all the fun details about how YOU can participate in this challenge AND score a free digital image!! Make sure you read the fine print! :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Pencil-digi (Hambo)
Ink: Copic markers
Paper: Harvest Gold, white cardstock (Papertrey Ink); various designer papers (October Afternoon)
Other: letter stickers (October Afternoon); gems (Kaisercraft); ribbon (misc.)

Happy Wedding Day!

The Sunshine Broadcast collection from Sassafrass has such a unique mix of papers.  Soft and sweet, a little vintage, some unexpected colours...all working together for perfection!  I used a lovely flower for my focal piece, choosing to stamp my sentiment right on the patterned paper. My inspiration for this card came from the new Card Ideas for Paper Crafters magazine.

Supplies:
Stamps: Wedding Centres (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Paper: Vintage Cream, Blueberry Sky (Papertrey Ink); Sunshine Broadcast collection (Sassafrass)

All Things Unity 37- Kissing!

All Things Unity challenge #37 features the kissing technique! If you need a refresher on 'how to' check out the simple tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.  Edited to add: This challenge has been changed to an "Anything Goes" challenge as there aren't enough Unity images to use the kissing technique to great effect.  I didn't get this memo apparently!! :) That's fine- just consider my card as "anything!" :)

I chose to use a solid butterfly image from Fresh Beginnings with Hibiscus Burst ink, and pressed it against one of the labels from Label It!  This created a floral butterfly image.

I'd love for you to play along with us at All Things Unity! Challenges are for 2 weeks and your creation MUST use a Unity or Ippity stamp! Head on over there to get the rest of the important details, and see what the other design team members have come up with!

Supplies:
Stamps: Label It!, Fresh Beginnings-April 2009 KOM (Unity Stamp Co.)
Ink: Chamomile, True Black, Hibiscus Burst (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: White (Papertrey Ink); Victorian Gardens collection (Echo Park)
Other: Nestabilities (Spellbinders); ribbon (misc.); button, twine (Papertrey Ink)

With matching die cuts that glitter and shine, all I really needed for this quick and easy card was a stamped sentiment! Paper: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); It's the Little Things collection (Fancy Pants Designs)

Easy thank yous

This has got to the fuzziest picture I have ever taken, but I snapped it with my iPhone and uploaded THEN mailed them out before I took the time to actually LOOK at the pictures and make sure they were OK!!  So, here are my fuzzy 'thank you' cards- a few more for those who gave me lovely gifts on my recent birthday.  Very easy and basic- just paper and stickers from the Summer Days collection by Echo Park and a stamped sentiment.  Sorry for the lack of posting lately.  I've been sick with an ear infection that has completely wiped me out...on the couch sleeping most of the day taking pain meds to fight the AWFUL pain in my ear. :( I'm really hoping it starts to clear up soon because I think my dear husband is a little tired of fending for himself and the kids....haha.

Supplies:
Stamps: Big & Bold Wishes (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Paper: Harvest Gold cardstock (Papertrey Ink); Summer Days collection (Echo Park)
Other: stickers from Summer Days collection (Echo Park)

Thank you note card set

Just a simple note card set that I created for myself after my recent 30th birthday. I needed to send out a few thank yous to those who treated me so generously on my big day! :) I was/am very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in my life!
I'm the gal in the hot pink holding the delicious cupcake. :) My kids were so delighted to sing Happy Birthday to their mommy...it just made me smile! Ignore all the 'adult' beverages in the background...when you're 30 you can celebrate like that if you want to... :)
Supplies:
Stamps: 2010 anniversary set (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black, Fresh Green, Opera Pink (Tsukineko)
Cardstock: White (Papertrey Ink)
Other: Stickles (Ranger)

Paper: Vintage Cream, Aqua Mist (Papertrey Ink); Emma's Shoppe collection (Crate Paper)

Happy Hoedown!

It's time for another Hambo Hoedown over on the challenge blog and this week we're playing Tic Tac Toe with the Little Indian digital stamp.  Isnt' she cute!?  I think she's in costume for her school production maybe...
So with using a Tic Tac Toe board to decide what elements will be on your card, you simply look at the board and choose 3 in a row whether it's up, down or diagonal. Maybe it sounds a bit confusing but once you head on over the Hoedown and check out the fabulous samples the design team came up with, you'll catch on!!!
I looked at the board and used buttons, flowers and punches.  The buttons are pretty obvious, the flowers are the green tiny little punched ones as well as the flowers on the designer paper; and the punches are the flowers, circle and scalloped circle.  This 'cutie patootie' is going to end up in the hands of a neighbour girl celebrating a birthday soon. :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Little Indian digi (Hambo); sentiment (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Chamomile, Terracotta Tile (Papertrey Ink); Copic markers
Paper: Harvest Gold, white cardstock (Papertrey Ink); 100 Days of Summer collection (Simple Stories)
Other: Flower punch, scalloped circle punch (Marvy); plain circle punch (EK Success); gems (Kaisercraft); buttons (Papertrey Ink)

Red Rose congrats!

Long time, no see...I had a BUSY holiday weekend off in Collingwood, ON for a bachelorette party that was fun, fun, fun.  Now I'm just catching up on sleep and trying to get back into a normal family routine. :)
Here is a wedding card I made with a request for roses. It's for the same friend who asked for a bridal shower card of the same theme; my previous post shows a card made using similar papers. I used the lovely For the Record collection by Echo Park, and a bunch of mish mash of stickers, diecuts and tape.

Supplies:
Stamps: Congratulations (Michael's)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Paper: White (Papertrey Ink); For the Record collection (Echo Park)
Other: Die cuts and impression plate (Papertrey Ink); tape (unknown); flower centre (Prima); Circle and scalloped circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
