Baby doilies

More doilies...and a very modern colour combo that steers away from the usual pale pinks and purples of a baby card. Mostly one layer and easy stamping, that's for sure! Just layer the doilies here, there and everywhere and added your sentiment- I could have stamped it right on the first layer but decided to go with an extra pop of black in there (or not, actually I smeared the sentiment and HAD to cover it up..hehe). Have a great day everyone! Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted) Stamps: Delightful Doilies, 2009 Anniversary set Ink: True Black, Berry Sorbet, Smokey Shadow Cardstock: Stamper's Select white, True Black

What a baby does

This was an easy layout, dressed up by the ultra cute designer paper and adorable vellum sticker. I inked the edges of everything before adhering. I just love the soft, 'prettiness' of this card! Supplies: Ink: Chamomile (PTI) Cardstock: Lavender Moon, Vintage Cream (PTI) Patterned Paper: Pitter Patter collection (Making Memories) Other: Doily (Martha Stewart); vellum sticker (DCWV); pink gems (Doodlebug Designs); circle punch (EK Success)

Cloudy Days

Sometimes the patterned paper does it all for you. :) I simply trimmed the paper to fit slightly smaller than an A2 sized cardstock base and stamped my sentiment right on the paper. Added some gems to the umbrella and that was it! Supplies: Stamps: sentiment (My Favorite Things) Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko) Cardstock: Lemon Tart (Papertrey Ink) Patterned Paper: April Showers collection (Three Bugs in a Rug) Other: gems (Zva)

Vintage brooches

A loooong time ago I bought a few beautiful brooches from my mother-in-law. I admit when I saw them I wasn't thinking about how lovely they'd look on a sweater, but on a CARD instead! :) I made sure to ask if she minded me using them on cards before I started cutting them up! :) Definitely use heavy cardstock for your card base as the brooch will weigh the card down, and LOTS of glue dots to secure it on. It adds a nice focal point without any heavy stamping or other images taking away from the elegance of the card. Thanks for looking today friends...I'm off to do some crafty shopping with my mom today at Scrappin' Great Deals- always fun! Supplies: Stamps: Love Lives Here set (PTI) Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile (PTI) Cardstock: Spring Moss (PTI) Patterned Paper: collection unknown (My Mind's Eye) Other: Vintage Cream ribbon, twine (PTI); Bow Easy tool; vintage brooch

HOME

No stamping again! :) I'm on a roll...seriously, it's time for me to go through my stash and USE UP the stuff I have. I have a serious paper addiction and have just bought more (oops, wasn't supposed to buy anything 'craft' related for Lent...) so I really need to crack down on what I have, and have fun creating some new cards!!
This is a basic one layer card that uses stickers from the adorable Life is Good collection by Echo Park.

Supplies:
Ink: Chai (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Berry Sorbet (Papertrey Ink)
Other: Branch, 'home' and heart stickers from Life is Good collection (Echo Park); Stickles (Ranger); foam dimensionals

Spring is here! (or is it??)

I couldn't find any stamps in my collection that seemed to compliment the cuteness of these April Showers papers by Three Bugs in a Rug (ok, that company name is just too cute!) so I went STAMP-FREE. It has to be done every once in awhile, right? :) Instead, I reached for my sticker stash and found the perfect (love it when that happens!) chipboard 'spring' sentiment!

When I made this card it WAS quite spring-like outside...today...not so much.

Supplies:
Ink: Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Lemon Tart (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: April Showers collection (Three Bugs in a Rug)
Other: Circle, Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders); 'spring' chipboard sticker (American Crafts); button (Papertrey Ink); twine (Jillibean Soup); gems (Zva)

Doily delight!

Does anyone else have the grumpies? I feel like the spring-like weather we had 2 days ago only came around to give us a false sense of security...not to mention my daughter Robin STILL hasn't fully recovered from the flu-bug and I have now to collect...well...7 'samples' of something I will not mention. GROSS is all I'll say. She also has to avoid dairy for the next week to see if maybe that is what is giving her the upset tummy instead. Try telling a 2 year old she can't have milk in the morning...big tears (and not just for her!!). Ack. Enough whining for me. :)

Here is a wedding card with a soft and pretty colour combination. I tried it out on cream cardstock instead of white, and like the results!

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Take Note, Delightful Doilies, Mat Stack 4 collection, Mat Stack 3 collection
Ink: Lavender Moon, Plum Pudding, Smokey Shadow
Cardstock: Vintage Cream
Other: Doily Details die

Banner Builder Baby

A simple, one layer card that took maybe 5 minutes to make once I had the idea planned out in my head (and that part takes a loooong time!). I used all Papertrey Ink supplies, and created a modern baby card for someone welcoming a new little man into their lives. This would be so easy to mass produce, and in any colour combination you'd like!

Supplies: (All Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Baby Button Bits, Fresh Alphabet, Banner Builder
Ink: Smokey Shadow, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, True Black; Royal Blue (Tsukineko)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White

Happily Ever After

One more card that didn't get picked up by Paper Crafts magazine for their Go-To Sketches for Card Makers magazine (sketch #42)...one I had fun making and just LOVE! I think it's a little more 'pretty and elegant' than what I usually create. It's fun sometimes to experiment with other styles and think outside of the box!

Supplies:
Stamps: Love Lives Here (Papertrey Ink
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Scarlet Jewel, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Scarlet Jewel, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); dotted paper (My Mind's Eye); flourish paper (Kaiser Craft)

Happiness

One of my favourite colours- that lovely turquoisey, greeny, blue. :) Or if you liken it company colours- Hawaiian Shores by Papertrey Ink. I loved that I found the coolest patterned paper at my LSS- the Paper Pickle and could use it on this card to make a bright and happy wedding card. I turned a small scrap of it over, die cut it and stamped it with the sentiment in Staz On ink (the paper is glossy, so Staz On worked best).

Supplies:
Stamps: (Clearly Sentimental about Love) My Favorite Things
Ink: (Black Staz On) Tsukineko
Paper: (Hawaiian Shores) Papertrey Ink; (patterned paper) unknown
Other: (Fillable Frame #4) Papertrey Ink; (stick pin) Making Memories; (Ribbon) Websters; (Pebble) Prima

Ric Rac birthday

A soft, sweet birthday card using a sketch from Paper Crafts magazine latest Go-to Sketches for Card Makers call. Not quite one layer, but almost, making it super easy to mail! I love that jumbo Ric Rac die from My Favorite Things! It's a must-have on my desk for a lot of projects lately. :)

Supplies: (All Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, Big & Bold Wishes
Ink: Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Chamomile
Paper: Vintage Cream; Alphabet Soup Girl collection (My Mind's Eye)
Other: Gems (Zva); Ric Rac border (My Favorite Things)

Best Birthday

This is another card that didn't get accepted this time around for Paper Crafts magazine. I read somewhere that over 2,700 projects were submitted, so I can hardly wait to see that magazine this summer and pour over the ones that did get published! (*ahem, I will have ONE card in there!!*) :)

I used bright, bold colours for this card and Scor Tape to adhere the ribbon. After getting all my ribbon in place with the tape, I trimmed it into a rectangle using my paper trimmer, and went over it again with very sharp scissors to shave off any edges left. I just love all the colours and coordinating products that Papertrey Ink has come out with over the years...makes my crafting time so much easier and fun! :)

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: (Banner Builder, Big & Bold Wishes)
Ink: (True Black, Raspberry Fizz)
Cardstock: (White, Raspberry Fizz)
Other: (ribbon); (pink gems) Basic Grey; (purple gem) Kaiser Craft; (Scor Tape)

Acceptance!!

NOT getting a card accepted into a magazine call (such as the recent special Paper Crafts Go-To-Sketches edition) means that I have a nice pile of cards and projects that I can show you here!! Isn't that optimism!? :)

So here is ONE of the six that I submitted recently. That means I have 4 more to show you...wait, 4? Think my math is a little wonky??? Well....drumroll...I actually had a card ACCEPTED for the Go-To-Sketches design call!!!! Someone pick me up off the floor. So you will see THAT card sometime in August, but for now- enjoy this one! :)

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Big Birthday Wishes
Ink: Chai; Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Paper: Summer Sunrise
Other: buttons, twine, Linen & Canvas impression plate

Celebrate

The jury is still out on whether I actually like this card or not...I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to end up, but once I started I didn't want to put my supplies down and start from scratch so here is the end result! After I stamped and coloured the tree I hand cut it; and those cute border stickers are all from the Indie Girl collection by Sassafrass (one of my FAVE paper companies!).

Supplies:
Stamps: Tree (Unity Stamp Co.); Mega Mixed Messages (PTI)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile (PTI); Copic markers
Paper: Vintage Cream (PTI); Indie Girl collection (Sassafrass)
Other: Border stickers (Sassafrass); twine, button (PTI)

Long time, no post!! I can't even claim to have had a busy week, but life seems to just have gotten away from me in the past few days and my poor ol' bloggo has been neglected. I reallly need to prepost a bunch of stuff when I get some free time, that way I'm not leaving so many days between posts!!
Here's a card I made using a fabulous digital download that Papertrey Ink offered during their anniversary celebrations a few weeks ago. I chose to made my card bright and bold, and it could be used for a few different occasions, birthday, graduation, etc. The sky is the limit!

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copics
Paper: Kraft, Ripe Avocado, Harvest Gold, Distressed Dots patterned paper, White
