First birthday

Sorry for the horrible picture- I made a birthday card for a neighbour boy who was turning one and forgot to take a picture of it until the last minute, hence the shoddy lighting instead of my photobox. But you get the drift, no? :)

There is a LOT of Papertrey Ink goodness on this card...dies galore (4 in total)! I'm in love with those doily dies so much so that I stole my mom's...honest mistake, thought they were mine...hehe. :) Other details- I inked the edges of everything with Chamomile tea dye ink and cut the ends of the birthday 'banner' with fine tip scissors.

Supplies:
Stamps: Just the Ticket, Big Birthday Wishes (PTI)
Ink: Smokey Shadow, Pure Poppy, Chamomile (PTI); Atlantic VersaColor (Tsukineko)
Paper: Blueberry Sky, Vintage Cream, Harvest Gold (PTI); Seaside collection (October Afternoon)
Other: Just the Ticket die, Doily Details die, Tag Sale 3 die, By the Numbers die, ribbon, button, twine (PTI); 1 3/4" circle punch (EK Success)

Healing Touch

Red ribbon...holy red ribbon! I just loooove these gorgeous ribbons from Webster's Pages. They add such elegance and class to a project (something maybe I could use, no?) :) I used one of the January Papertrey Ink releases- Healing Touch sentiments for this classy get well card. I hope all of you are keeping well this winter- it seems like our household has had the sniffles since November, amongst other ailments...can't WAIT for spring to get here (as I look outside to yet another Southwestern Ontario blizzard...*sigh*

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile (PTI)
Paper: Pure Poppy, Enchanted Evening, Vintage Cream (PTI); floral (DaisyD's)

Hi!

This was a very simple, quick card to put together. I stamped the criss-cross pattern from Background Basics: Argyle in Violet ink and used an already diecut flower from Sassafrass as my focal point. I swiped my Vintage Cream ink around the edges to soften up the card, and of course- the always fun and ready to use Thickers add a dash of sparkle! Easy peasy!

Supplies
Stamps: Background Basics: Argyle (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Violet (Tsukineko)
Cardstock: Kraft (Papertrey Ink)
Other: Flower die cuts, flower centre sticker (Sassafrass); brad (Making Memories); Thickers (American Crafts)

MFTWSC7- A cloudy day

I had lots of fun playing with MFT's weekly sketch this week! A beautiful, simple sketch with SO many possibilities! That heart had me stumped until I read you can substitute with another shape/embellishment of your choice...soooo....I headed to my BUCKET O' STUFF that I haven't inked up/played with yet, found the perfect sentiment and used it with that lovely Sunshine die! I thought that October Afternoon Campfire collection worked well with the 'outdoorsy' theme of my card. Thanks for looking!

Paper: Simply Chartreuse, Enchanted Evening, Vintage Cream, Harvest Gold (Papertrey Ink); Campfire collection (October Afternoon)

A bicycle built for two...

"Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do.
I'm half crazy all for the love of you.
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage.
But you'll look sweet,
Upon the seat,
Of a bicycle made for two."

Love to all of you! It's my 8th wedding anniversary today, so I'm bursting with love and happiness. My dear husband just finished cleaning the laundry room for me (it's the little things like that, that I find romantic...haha) and now we're going to get ready for an afternoon adventure together and supper out on the town! :)

Seaside Birthday

The Seaside collection by October Afternoon is one of my fave paper collections of all time. I've been hoarding my papers, not wanting to use them for fear I'll run out. I love the dreamy blues and greens, the nostalgic summer vacation feeling I get from them, that surprise 'pop' of rich red...*sigh* Even better are the Wild Cards. No hard stamping/colouring work involved...just ink the edges and voila!

Stamps: Mega Mixed Messages, Borders & Corners: Circles (PTI)
Ink: True Black, Pure Poppy, Chamomile (PTI)
Paper: Vintage Cream, Simply Chartreuse (PTI); Seaside collection papers (October Afternoon)

To My Valentine

I love vintage-y looking Valentine's and so I tried to replicate that in this card. I really wish I knew where that cherub card came from- it was a 12x12 sheet of perforated cards...soooo lovely! The 'flower' came from a piece of Prima ribbon that I cut apart so as to use just individual bloom...added some Stickles to the heart pile and voila!! I was done!

Supplies:
Ink: Chamomile (PTI)
Paper: Aqua Mist (PTI); Love Birds collection papers (Fancy Pants)
Other: pearls (Kaisercraft); Scalloped border punch (SU!); Stickles (Ranger); ribbon flower (Prima); cherub die cut card (misc.)

Color Challenge 2

Yet another entry for the Papertrey Ink color challenge contest. For my second card I used Jessica Witty's beautiful combo of Aqua Mist, Soft Stone, Raspberry Fizz and Summer Sunrise. The set I used I earned at CHA last summer by spending over $100 (let me tell you, it wasn't that hard to grab up $100 worth of AMAZING products!!). I am SO excited to learn that the Papertrey Ink group will be returning this summer as well- see you all there!! I punched out the Summer Sunrise cardstock using a small circle punch and covered them, as well as the other strip along the bottom with Diamond Stickles.

Thanks for looking and have a GREAT day!

Supplies:
Stamps: CHA free set
Ink: Aqua Mist, Raspberry Fizz, Chamomile, True Black
Cardstock: Aqua Mist, Soft Stone, Summer Sunrise
Other: 1/4" circle punch (SU!); Stickles (Ranger)

Favourite Papertrey Ink of 2010

Oh WOW! Did I ever have a hard job narrowing down my fave Papertrey Ink projects that I made in 2010! I made a list, checked them all out again, narrowed the list down, furrowed my brow a bit, and finally decided. :) So here goes...
The first is a card I made for the Christmas season. I wanted it to be "flat" for easy mailing purposes. I like it because it is simple, yet sincere and 'Christmasy'. I made around 40 of these to send out to family and friends. The original post is here.
Supplies:
(all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted) Stamps: Tree Trimming Trio, Big and Bold Holiday Wishes
Ink: Simply Chartreuse, Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, Chai tea dye
Cardstock: Fine Linen, Pure Poppy
Other: 1/4" circle punch (EK Success); Stickles (Ranger)

This next one I custom made for my mother-in-law who wanted a card to match the wedding invitation she received (I blurred out the details on the invite). I made my own patterned paper and felt that I really came close the original, while at the same time making it elegant and fun! The original post is here.

Supplies:
Stamps: In Bloom, Big & Bold Wishes, Vintage Labels (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Black (Staz On)
Paper: Simply Chartreuse (Papertrey Ink); Shimmery pink, shimmery cream (The Paper Company)
Other: gems (Kaisercraft); Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers); Pearl glimmer mist (Tattered Angels)
Thanks for looking everyone and have a great day!

Girly, you rock!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE the Circa 1934 collection by Cosmo Cricket! Can't get enough of those doilies either...seriously. They are now a MUST HAVE in my stash. This was a Paper Crafts magazine submission that didn't make it, so I"m happy to be able to show it to you now!
