Custom baby shower invitation!

I was asked by a neighbour if I could create 20 invitations to a bridal shower she was hosting for a friend expecting...well, can you guess...a girl! :) I had lots of fun coming up with this design and putting it all together. Baby Button Bits made it SO easy and instead of adding an actual button (to lessen the bulk of the ones being mailed) I punched a 1/2" circle and covered it with glitter. I love the end result and the person who ordered them did too!

Supplies:
Stamps: Baby Button Bits (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chai, Berry Sorbet (Papertrey Ink); Copics
Paper: White, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, Pretty Pastels designer paper (Papertrey Ink)
Other: 1/2" circle punch, scalloped border punch (SU!); Swiss Dots embossing folder (Provo Craft); Diamond Stickles (Ranger)

Some Odd Girl sponsoring Digital Tuesday!!

This week I've joined the team over at the Digital Tuesday blog to help show off their latest and greatest challenge- "Anything But a Card." Some Odd Girl is sponsoring this fab challenge so as part of their design team I played along using the so, so, so cute RAINBOW image. I decided to make a gift bag and make it is as girly as possible- there is a little girl out there waiting ever so patiently for her birthday gift and when she gets it, it will arrive in style! :)

Supplies:
Stamps: RAINBOW digi (Some Odd Girl)
Ink: Copic markers; Chai (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Nerdy Bird 12x12 kit (Sassafrass Lass); New Leaf (Papertrey Ink)
Other: glitter (Doodlebug Designs); 'birthday girl' rub-on (Daisyd's); Sun sticker (Sassafrass Lass)

Vintage birthday

I made this birthday card for my husband's grandma who is a very special lady. I know that most grandmas are special ladies to many of us, but I really love my grandma-in-law; she is just warm, friendly and funny. AND she loves antiques and all things vintage so I when I found this dress form stamp by Impression Obsession in my stash I knew I had to use it for her birthday card!

I paper pieced the dress with The Thrift Shop papers by October Afternoon (GASP! How gorgeous are these papers!?), adding some colouring with Copic markers particularly to the sash, roses and leaves. I just kept wanting to add touches of everything 'vintagey' that I had, so I eventually had to restrain myself and stop!

Supplies:
Stamps: Feminine Form (Impression Obsession); 2008 Anniversary set (Papertrey Ink
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile (Papertrey Ink); Copics
Paper: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Thrift Shop (October Afternoon)
Other: flower (Making Memories); Pure Poppy button (Papertrey Ink); ribbon (Ellen Hutson); Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

Home Sweet Home

I love these glittery die cuts from Crate Paper and decided to use them as my focal point on this card. There isn't much to say about this one, because everything is pretty straight forward! I inked all edges and that's about it. :) It is so glittery and pretty IRL.

Supplies:
Stamps: Boards & Beams (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Chai (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Oo La La (My Mind's Eye); Patterned kraft (Jillibean Soup)

Other: Home, Bird die cuts (Crate Paper); button (Papertrey Ink); leaf punch (Martha Stewart); brads (Basic Grey)

Challenge Day!!

It's another challenge day over at the Some Odd Girl challenge blog! This time- use NO patterned paper. Think you can handle that?? :)

I used the fabulous Magic Mae for my 'pretty' card and a Cuttlebug embossing folder for texture where I would have normally used patterned paper. There are a LOT of Spica glitter markers used here- this really SHINES in real life! AND even more so, I sprayed some Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist over the entire back embossed panel so it has a lovely pearlescent look to it! Run on over to the challenge blog and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Magic Mae digi (Some Odd Girl); Wonderful Wishes (Verve Visual)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copic markers, Spica glitter markers (Copic); Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: White, Lavender Moon (Papertrey Ink)
Other: Cuttlebug embossing folder (Provo Craft); ribbon (misc.); glitter (Doodlebug Designs); Border punch (Fiskars); foam dimensionals; Pearl glimmer mist (Tattered Angels)

Some Odd Girl Release Day!!

It's that time again- some fantastic new digital images from Some Odd Girl are being released today!!! Thanks for stopping by to see a few of these beauties! :)

First up is cute little Sheepy. I used a sketch from the Paper Crafts Go-To-Sketches magazine (also a Moxie Fab challenge right now). I recently bought a 12x12 Sassafrass Lass "Nerdy Bird" kit that came with a little bit of everything, so I used some of the papers, along with that cute cloud sticker.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sheepy digi (Some Odd Girl)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Copic markers, Spica glitter marker (Copic)
Paper: Hawaiian Shores, white (Papertrey Ink); purple (Bazzil); 'Cheery' from Nerdy Bird collection (Sassafrass Lass); blue glitter paper (Doodlebug Designs)
Other: cloud sticker (Sassafrass Lass); buttons (Papertrey Ink); heart punch (EK Success); letter rub-ons (Wholly Cow)

For Rocket I used SC276 from Splitcoaststampers, paired with Joy Ride papers by Cosmo Cricket. Boy cards are so hard for me! I just want to add glitter, lace and buttons everywhere! :) So instead I used lots of inking, brads and punches.

Supplies:
Stamps: Rocket digi (Some Odd Girl); Starlight Starbright (Verve Visual)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chai (Papertrey Ink); Copic markers
Paper: True Black, white (Papertrey Ink); Joy Ride (Cosmo Cricket)
Other: chipboard star (misc.); circle punch (EK Success); 'Swiss Cheese' punch (EK Success); brads (Making Memories)

And finally we have Magic Mae. This 'spell casting/wish granting' Mae is one of almost a dozen variations of this cutie being released this month. I coloured her and cut her out completely, adhering her to the small oval so that she kind of floats outside the frame.

Supplies:
Stamps: Magic Mae (Some Odd Girl)
Ink: Chamomile (Papertrey Ink); Copic markers, Spica glitter marker (Copic)
Paper: white (Papertrey Ink); Kioshi (Basic Grey)
Other: crystals (Zva); oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders); sentiment rub-on (Melissa Frances); Scalloped border punch (SU!); brads (Basic Grey)

Okay, so you have seen my peeks- now go on over and get some of these amazing digis at Some Odd Girl!! Check out the rest of design team for more inspiration too :)

Some Odd Girl April Freebie- Mae!

This little cutie is Some Odd Girl's April freebie- Mae's Bouquet. Isn't she CUTE?! You can see MORE of Mae on April 20th- release day! Yeah!

The stripey look on Mae's shoes came from gently drawing on them with my Copic blender marker, after they had been coloured. You can't see it very well here, but her headband is coloured with a Spica glitter marker; I wish they showed up better on the computer screen, because does it ever SPARKLE here!

Supplies:
Stamps: Mae's Bouquet (Some Odd Girl); Mixed Messages (PTI)
Ink: Chai (PTI), Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copic markers, Spica glitter markers (Copic)
Paper: Oo la la (My Mind's Eye); Orange Zest, Hawaiian Shores, Vintage Cream, New Leaf (PTI)
Other: Circles, Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities(Spellbinders); flourish (Zva); foam dimensionals

Another Sweet Sunday Sketch!

Another fabulous sketch for the SSSC64 over on Karen's blog- the sweetest thing. I decided to use these CUTE chipboard stickers by Sassafrass Lass (I just love the name of that company...) for my focal point, and turned it into a Mother's Day card! It's funny...I have about 30 Mother's Day cards laying around, and only ONE mother. :) Do you paper crafters have the same problem? The stitching around the popped up panel is 'faux' ie. I used my paper piercer and a brown Zig marker. I'd love to invest in a small sewing machine but don't really have the space for it anywhere on my craft table. Maybe someday!

Supplies:
Stamps: Happy Mother's Day (Inkadinkado)
Ink: Chai, New Leaf (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Oo la la (My Mind's Eye)
Other: Sunny day blossoms (Sassafrass Lass); pink gem (Basic Grey); foam dimensionals

This card is for my handsome hubby; he travels a lot for business so I like to occasionally tuck a card into his suitcase for him to find when he's unpacking. The adorable Rain Cloud is a digi from the Some Odd Girl latest release. Look for more amazing digital images coming from them on April 20!!! Some Odd Girl Challenge Day!!

Today's the big day- the 2nd challenge over at the Some Odd Girl Challenge blog. Every other Thursday we'll be bringing you alternating 'Stash and Style' challenges. Last time it was a fabulous rainbow inspiration challenge- this time it was a fabulous sketch to work with! This is one sketch that is going to be used over and over. I really liked working with it, and you'll probably see LOTS of cards in the next little while with similar elements to the sketch. On reading this, do you think I used the word SKETCH enough?? :) Anyway...on to the card!!

I used the ever sweet Love Birds paired with the colour purple *gasp*! I think this is a colour a lot of paper crafters have trouble using...myself included. I decided to be brave and go for it...haha. I inked all edges, and created the little tag that the LOVE is stamped on myself. I almost out of those lovely American Craft Thickers in sparkly purple...I just LOVE them!!

Ink: Plum Pudding, Chai, Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink); Copic markers; Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)

Teacher- happy birthday!

I coloured this image SO long ago and used it on another card, paired with Marrakech papers by Basic Grey but I just detested it. Yes, detested. :) So I ripped it apart and decided not to waste all that colouring, and started over. This time I am satisfied. I kept with the same Marrakech paper, but did a lot of inking, and added that very manly twine and button (haha).
Have a great day everyone!!

Please stop by on Thursday the 8th so you can see what the next challenge at Some Odd Girl is- you will LOVE it!! I sure did... That means you have a little time left to enter the rainbow challenge currently running-until midnight tonight!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Professafella (Stamping Bella); Limitless Labels (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Enchanted Evening (Papertrey Ink); Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copic markers
Paper: white (Papertrey Ink); Marrakech 6x6 pack (Basic Grey)
Other: button (Basic Grey); twine (misc.); foam dimensionals; Diamond Glaze (JudiKins)

Boys will be boys :)

My little guy Jake is a typical boy. Play in the mud, madly race his tricycle up and down the lane way, torment his sister, kind of boy. His dimples are what brighten my day when I'm feeling gloomy, and his laugh just delights me.

I took him to see a live show of Franklin the Turtle one day last week and was overwhelmed at his excitement. I hope I always remember the look on his face when Franklin came on stage. Absolute joy.

This card is made with thoughts of him in mind. Dinosaurs, sunny days and plain ol' fun. :) The Longneck Dino by Some Odd Girl is the perfect image for this cute card.

Supplies:
Stamps: Longneck dino (Some Odd Girl); For the Men (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: Ripe Avocado, Spring Rain, Lemon Tart, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink); Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copic markers
Paper: Lemon Tart, white, Kraft, Ripe Avocado from 2008 Bitty Box Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Other: Stickles (Ranger); foam dimensionals
