Introducing...ME! :)

Today is the day I am being introduced as a design team member over on the new Some Odd Girl Challenge Blog. If you participate in this week's STASH challenge (a rainbow theme, what could be better!?) and link up your creation over there by April 7th, you could win a digi of your choice PLUS Mae, who won't be released to the public until April!! Isn't she cute? :) Two lucky entrants will also get a banner/blinkie to put up on their blog! By the way, here is my rainbow card for you to look at. I had LOTS of fun making it!

You can read my little questionnaire over on the challenge blog- everyone has such different answers...I took the 'thumb tack' question quite literally. :) Since it's my special day over at the challenge blog, I thought I'd treat one of you with a free digital image from Some Odd Girl. How do you like this tree?! It's just PERFECT!! Here's my sample of how I used this gorgeous creation...

Bookwormabella meets Kioshi

Every time I settle on a favourite Basic Grey paper collection, they come out with a new one that I fall in love with. Kioshi from Basic Grey is just so soft, springlike and divine! I only received it a few days ago, but it is already mostly used up!

This Stamping Bella image (Bookwormabella) has been coloured and paper pieced (the pants are Lily Kate by BG) for a long time now, sitting around waiting to be used. Simple card, easy to put together, beautiful end result! The final card is 5 1/4" square

Supplies:
Stamps: Bookwormabella (Stamping Bella)
Ink: Chamomile (Papertrey Ink); Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copic markers

March Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!!

Yes, yes, yes it's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop time...yippeeeee!! :) Here's the inspiring theme this month: BUTTONS!
How fun! My first thought was "OH GOOD- I only have about a million of them, I can finally use some up." My second thought was, "uh oh...HOW do I use them creatively?" Well, here's my card and you can decide if it's creative or not, but just the same I like it! I suppose this one WILL be a hand delivered one though...it's pretty darn heavy! :)
I secured all those fab buttons with Scor Tape. I did not run the white cardstock through the Cuttlebug folder using a machine, instead I used my rolling pin and gently rolled back and forth, because I wanted the impression to be more subtle than had I used my Big Shot.

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Tags for Spring
Ink: Sweet Blush, True Black, Chamomile
Paper: Stamper's Select White, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush
Other: Buttons; scalloped border punch (SU!); Scalloped circle punch (EK Success); Cuttlebug embossing folder (Provo Craft); foam dimensionals

Some Odd Girl challenge- rainbows!

Today is the first ever challenge from the Some Odd Girl Challenge Blog...featuring RAINBOWS! Ooooo I love rainbows! :) We'll be running "Stash and Style" challenges every other week so make sure to keep checking in and playing along!

As you can see, I have represented every colour in the rainbow here. For the rainbow strip along the bottom I glued all the coloured pieces together in a strip, ran it through my Big Shot machine using the Top Note die, and then trimmed away any excess edges. Can you tell I love that TREE? :)

Supplies:
Stamps: TREE digi (Some Odd Girl); sentiment (Hero Arts)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copic markers
Paper: white, Pure Poppy, Lemon Tart, Orange Zest, New Leaf (Papertrey Ink); blue, purple (Bazzil)
Other: Cuttlebug embossing folder (Provo Craft); Top Note die (SU!); orange glitter (Doodlebug); other glitter (Art Glitter); foam dimensionals

SOME ODD GIRL RELEASE DAY!!!

Are you as excited as I am?? It's finally here...Some Odd Girl spring release day!!! Wahooo!! Today there are a total of 33 digi images being released and they are so SO CUTE! I have 4 cards to show you using some of these new images, so I'm going to get started and fill you in on the details!! :)

This TREE is just TOO FABULOUS! Ohhhh the possibilities! You already saw a sample on Sunday's post here. My attempt at colouring this tree in non-traditional colours didn't quite work out the way I wanted...still practising lots with those Copics! I added the glitter by using my glue pen, dabbing it where I wanted it, and gently sprinkling the Art Glitter on. Isn't the new Green at Heart line by Basic Grey is just divine...
Supplies:
Stamps: Tree (Some Odd Girl)
Ink: Copics markers; Chai (Papertrey Ink); Vintage Photo distress ink (Tim Holtz for Ranger)
Paper: white (Papertrey Ink); Green at Heart 6x6 designer paper (Basic Grey)
Other: gems (Zva); glitter (Art Glitter); button, twine (misc.); branch (SU!)
RAIN CLOUD is one of my fave images from the spring release line. So versatile! I paired it with a sentiment from Rain or Shine by My Favorite Things that I thought fit well. I used my BG0000 Copic marker to trace around the cloud to make it appear 'whiter'. I kept this card simple, with a bright pop of colour meant to bring cheer! I adhered the ribbon using Scor Tape, and used a glue dot to attach the bow and ribbon separately.

Supplies:
Stamps: Rain Cloud (Some Odd Girl); Rain or Shine (MFT)
Ink: Spring Rain, Orange Zest (Papertrey Ink); Copic markers
Paper: white, Orange Zest (Papertrey Ink); Blue (Bazzil); blue glitter paper (Doodlebug Designs)
Other: Orange Zest button, Spring Rain ribbon(Papertrey Ink); twine (misc.); border punch (Fiskars); foam dimensionals

LOLLI is too cute and yummy looking- very sweet and sugary, perfect for pairing with Basic Grey's Two Scoops designer paper. The Copic colouring I did by blending, blending, blending, and then blending some more :) Not sure if it shows up in the picture, but I dabbed Diamond Stickles on top of each brad for a little extra 'bling'. I love how this card turned out so sugary and sweet- exactly what I was going for!

Supplies:
Stamps: Lolli (Some Odd Girl); Another Sweet Day (Unity Stamp Company)
Ink: Copic markers; Sweet Blush, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: white (Papertrey Ink); Two Scoops 6x6 designer paper (Basic Grey)
Other: brads (Basic Grey); 1/2" punch (SU!); flourish diecut (Sizzix); Stickles

These LOVE BIRDS were so fun to colour- lots of variations that you could use. I think these two could be true loves, or maybe even a mommy and baby bird...what do you think?? I coloured them with Copic markers and paired with papers from DCWV. The little flower at the bottom was done using my 1/2" circle punch and Scor Tape.

Supplies:
Stamps: Love Birds digi (Some Odd Girl)
Ink: Copic markers; Spring Rain (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: white (Papertrey Ink); Citrus (DCWV)
Other: gems (Michael's); Summer Sunrise ribbon (Papertrey Ink); 1/2" circle punch (SU!); bauble (K & Co.); Scor Tape
Thanks for looking everyone! I hope you have found something to inspire you. Now it's time to check out the other design team members and their creations, if you haven't already. And then of course, head over to Some Odd Girl and get some for yourself!! Come back on the 25th so you can see our first challenge!

Sunny days...

Oh my, oh my...is it ever gorgeous here in south western Ontario. Finally the sun is shining and the birds are chirping!

It should only take me 2 minutes tops to walk to the end of the laneway to get the mail, but it was Robin's first time outside in her new rubber boots and every time she took a step she had to stop and look at her fashionable "kitty cat" pink boots. :) I can already tell it will be a dirty spring for us, because she seemed VERY interested in every mud puddle she came across! Of course my little guy Jake is just naturally a mud puddle lover!

Supplies:
Stamps: Nature's Silhouettes (Cornish Heritage Farms); Gracious Greetings (Close To My Heart)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Chamomile, Sweet Blush, Spring Moss (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Porcelain 6x6 collection (Basic Grey)

Happily Ever After

It's been awhile since I pulled out my Technique Tuesday stamps. I'd forgotten how much I love them and how versatile they are! I had the same papers and inks out from the card in the previous post and decided I would just keep on creating! I stamped the solid flower in Sweet Blush ink, then layered the outline over top in Berry Sorbet- easy, and a beautiful result!

Thank goodness for Daylight Savings Time...my little ones slept in for some reason this morning (a rarity) making it a whoppin' 8:45 a.m. when they got out of bed...I hope this keeps up! :)
Supplies:
Stamps: Two Steppin' in the Garden, Small Talk (Technique Tuesday)
Ink: Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Spring Moss, Dark Chocolate, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Porcelain 6x6 collection (Basic Grey)
Other: pearls (Kaisercraft); foam dimensionals

For the Bride and Groom

Springtime means wedding season begins. I don't think we have many on the horizon this year- last year was a big wedding year for us, and this year seems to be all about babies...imagine that!? Funny how that works! :)

I stamped the image right on the designer paper and cut individual blossoms out and popped them up off the tree, adding pearls to other blossoms. I used a Copic marker to go over some of the blooms to add extra softness to them. Very soft, pretty and wedding-ish. Thanks for looking!

Supplies:
Stamps: Wedding Centres (Cornish Heritage Farms); Another Sweet Day- May 09(Unity)
Ink: Copic marker (Copic); Chamomile (PTI); Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate, Versamagic Pink Petunia (Tsukineko)
Paper: Porcelain (Basic Grey); Sweet Blush (PTI)

Other: brad (Basic Grey); circle punch (Marvy); pearls (Kaisercraft)

Glorious Spring Wishes

Glorious spring wishes...that's what I wishing for today! The sun was shining very brightly all day today, and I could smell spring- you know what I mean right? :) The mild weather inspired me to create something bright and cheerful, what better to use than the wonderful Spring Baskets set by Waltzingmouse Stamps. The basket and flowers are 2 different pieces to be stamped separately (you can probably tell I didn't QUITE get them lined up exactly, but it is VERY easy to do, I'm just sloppy) and I coloured them with Copic markers.

SPEAKING of Copic markers, I'm SO excited to be taking a class taught by Linda Heavens at the Paper Pickle Co. tonight! I'm really hoping to absorb just a SMIDGE of her colouring talent! :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Spring Baskets (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Summer Sunrise, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink); Copic markers, Spica glitter marker (Copic)

Olympics of Stamping- BIRTHDAY

I love the bright, bold colours of this birthday card. This is my entry for the Moxie Fab Olympics of Stamping BIRTHDAY category. Okay, enough with the Moxie Fab entries now...I promise I'm done! :)

I used the rock and roll technique for the floral image from Garden of Life by Papertrey Ink. I stamped it in Orange Zest, and the rolled the outer edges in Pure Poppy. Subtle, but nice. :) The sentiment was stamped directly on top.

Supplies:
Stamps: Garden of Life, Birthday Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Chai (Papertrey Ink); Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Paper: Stamper's Select White (PTI); Citrus matstack (DCWV)

Olympics of Stamping- Hello/Thinking of You

Another Moxie Fab Olympics of Stamping entry!! This time the category is Thinking of You/Hello. I must admit this card is less 'mostly stamped' than the others, but I'm happy with the final result. I'm in love with Origins by Basic Grey. I bought the 12x12 pack, the 6x6 pack, the cardmaking kit AND the scrapbooking kit!! :) Some elements on this card are leftovers from the scrapbooking kit. The sentiment by Unity Stamp Company just astounds me. It's beautiful!

Supplies:
Stamps: Just Be (Unity Stamp Company)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Chai (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Dark Chocolate, Kraft (Papertrey Ink); Origins (Basic Grey)
