Reach for the Sky

Sometimes I see a card in a magazine and think..."ohhh my gosh that is the BEST card ever!" That's what I thought about Dawn McVey's Vintage Thank You card on pg. 78 of the latest volume of Card Creations: Favorite Occasions. You can see the card here on the Moxie Fab blog.

Now my version isn't nearly as elaborate or pretty, but I was please with the result and those perfect Wild Cards make it easy to come up with a focal point!! Enjoy!

Stamps: Up, up and away sentiments (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukiniko); Chai and Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: New Leaf (Papertrey Ink
Paper: Fly a Kite collection (October Afternoon)

Birthday Girl- 16

I'm the librarian (one of two) at our local library and have a student that comes in on weeknights to work and her 16th birthday just passed. She also babysits for our family which is much appreciated in a small community where there aren't many teenagers to choose from!
Of course, at 16 you can write for your learner's permit (called a G1) so this card features a car. I used the cute Enjoy the Ride set and die to cut out and stamp the card, and added Stickles to the headlights. The crystal flourish is supposed to look like a road (hmmm...use your imagination!).

Stamps: Enjoy the Ride (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukinko)
Cardstock: White Stamper's Select (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Sweet Summertime collection (Echo Park)
Other: Corner rounder (WRMK); Scalloped circle punch (EK Success); numbers (American Crafts); crystal flourish (Zva); Enjoy the Ride die (Papertrey Ink); Diamond Stickles (Ranger); Scalloped border sticker (Echo Park); foam dimensionals

Christmas Cheer!

These are a sample of some of the tags I made to put on my gifts this year. Mass production is always easiest when doing something like this, so I made around 20 of them at once (it really didn't take long at all!). Just simple stamping really. I like to keep things basic at this time of year, because even though I love crafting and creating, I much rather be spending my time snuggled up with my lovies reading Christmas stories, or sipping hot chocolate while watching Rudolph. :)

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Wreath for All Seasons, Big & Bold Holiday Wishes, Text Style

Ink: Chamomile & Chai Tea Dyes, Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate, New Leaf; Antique Linen (Ranger)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White
Other: Red Baker's twine, Tag Sale 1, Tag Sale 2

Let me tell ya, this card is super duper cute IRL. I'm going to give it to my lil' darling Robin on Christmas morning. Oh yes, and a card with Pressie Tobie on it for my son Jake! :)

Fly away with me

A cheery, non-Christmas card for today. As I look outside and can only see HUGE snowdrifts for miles and miles I decided I wanted to create something decidely NON winter-ish!! :)
Check out this article to see what my area has been dealing with the last few days...not good! All I can say is that we are so lucky to not have lost power like some folks and our house was pretty well stocked with food and other supplies. In other household news, I'm really starting to go crazy with a cold I can't seem to shake and a FOUR year old who asks 20 times a day how many days until Christmas!

Stamps: Up, Up and Away (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile, Chai (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)

Card Creations Favorite Occasions: Love

I'm still head over heels for Circa 1934 by Cosmo fabulous is it?! Here's my submission for another fabulous challenge: Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Week Love Challenge in the Moxie Fab World .

This one is a little 'busier' than the Thank You card I posted about yesterday, but I couldn't stop adding things once I started...haha. A lot of tea dye used on this card- added the vintagey shabbiness I was hoping for.

Ink: Tea Dye duo (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: True Black (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Circa 1934 collection (Cosmo Cricket)
Other: Typewriter element, border sticker, alphabet stickers (Cosmo Cricket); heart punch (EK Success); doily (Martha Stewart); button (Papertrey Ink); black and silver sticker {on button} (Making Memories)

Card Creations Favorite Occasions: Thank You

I love Moxie Fab Challenges!! This time around the focus is on OCCASIONS rather than holidays. So as per the "super-duper important, don't forget to include this" instructions, my card is for the Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Week Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. Okay, say that all in one breath!

I JUST received my Circa 1934 kit in the mail on Thursday and couldn't wait to dive into its loveliness. *sigh* I love Cosmo Cricket. I stamped my sentiment right onto the paper 'element' from the collection, cut up the flourish a bit to fit, and ruffled my ribbon (still LOVE that technique!). Thanks for looking and enjoy!

Cardstock: Kraft (Papertrey Ink)

My Christmas List

I think this Christmas List by Unity Stamp Co. is one of the cutest Christmas stamps there is. Personally I like the "wear a wide belt and no one will notice how many pounds you have gained." Hmmm...good suggestion! :) This card is not as 'Christmasy' as others I have made but I still like it. We'll call it opposed to, "Marcie was sick of red and green." What is on your Christmas/holiday lists? Not much for me- maybe a nice book to curl up with at night and some pretty cardmaking bling in my stocking by Prima or Kaisercraft. I don't ask for much! :) I am waaayyy more excited about watching my children open their gifts and stockings this year as I think they finally "get" Christmas and Santa...soooo excited!

Stamps: (Unity Stamp Co.)
Ink: Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Brown (Bazzil)
Paper: shimmer white (unknown); Everybody Loves Christmas collection (Echo Park)
Other: Border punch (Fiskars); snowflake punch (Martha Stewart); ribbon (misc.); Bella dots (Stamping Bella)

Count Me In on your birthday

There is nothing I love more than a paper collection with stickers to match! Thankfully, almost all companies are doing this now to make our lives easier...haha. :) Sassafrass is one of my fave companies because of how quirky and fun their paper lines are. Count Me In is no exception, and I looooove the cutsie stickers that go with this collection.
On this card I paired a bunch of their papers together with one of the 'cloud' stickers and stamped my sentiment right onto the sticker itself. I paper pieced the cupcake with even more papers and added some glitter and a button to top it off. Darn cute if you ask me. :)

Stamps: sentiment (Hero Arts); cupcake from Baby Button Bits (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Cardstock: Berry Sorbet (Papertrey Ink); Juneberry (Bazzil)
Paper: Count Me In collection (Sassafrass)
Other: sticker from Count Me In collection (Sassafrass); button (Papertrey Ink); Stickles (Ranger)

Wish Big Banners

An ultra-simple card, with only a few stamped pieces and a cute (but not toooo cute, it is for a man after all) banner! I stamped the Text Style background right onto the Soft Stone cardstock and 'dirtied up' the edges using my tea dye duo inks. After stamping the sentiment in Pure Poppy and adding the buttons, I cut my banner to fit and adhered using glue dots! Easy peasy!

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Text Style, Big & Bold Wishes
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, Chai, Chamomile
Cardstock: Spring Moss, Soft Stone
Other: buttons, twine; Banner (Imaginisce)

The hop runs through December 1 at 6 p.m. Us Odd Girls will have our winners posted on December 2.

I decided to create a four tag combo set for my little ones, my nephew, and Santa of course! I personalized each tag with their name and the ODDity that closely resembled them...for Santa of course, he was spot on! :) Each tag uses the same papers, embellishments and the only difference is in the image and colouring...I just changed up each paper combination to keep it unique! Click on the picture for a closer view.

The first tag on the left is for my nephew Ben and uses Prezzie Tobie, followed by Santa's tag.
Then we have another Pressie Tobie for my son Jake, and Big Pressie Tia for my daughter Robin. I just loved colouring up all these cuties and can't WAIT to use them on some of their presents come Christmas time!

Cheery Santa

Isn't this guy the cutest Santa you've ever seen? Pretty cheery looking if you ask me! I LOVE Echo Park papers because of how bright, bold and colourful they always fave combinations when crafting. Ink: Chai, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)

Peace on Earth

Tomorrow is one of the last sales of the season my mom and I are selling our cards at. We have done four so far and had lots of fun! I can't believe I made over 300 Christmas cards!!! Maybe that's why I ordered photo cards online this year instead of making more for myself to send out...haha. :) I was determined to use up LAST YEAR'S papers before I cracked into this seasons, so this card shows the last of my Eskimo Kisses paper from Basic Grey. I love Dawn McVey's use of doilies on many of her creations, so I grabbed some at good ol' Walmart the other day from the Martha Stewart section and used them on my card.

Stamps: Signature Christmas (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: white, Scarlet Jewel (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Eskimo Kisses collection (Basic Grey)

Pressie Tobie and SOG events!

I created this card a week or so ago for the Some Odd Girl November digi day over on the SNR site. Have you participated in one of Some Odd Girl's digi days yet?? We have them once a month over at SNR AND Paper Craft Planet...seriously- come join us for some fun!! Games, challenges and prizes, what could be better? Our next one is December 11th, but until then feel free to participate in our challenges AND the upcoming Hol-ODD-day Blog Hop!

My challenge for this card was to make something MASCULINE. Well, Tobie IS a boy, and I tried to stay with brown and kraft colours. The lack of 'bling' or pretty ribbon { :( } makes it a little more gender appropriate as well. BTW- Tobie kinda looks like my little sweetie Jake! :)

Stamps: Pressie Tobie (Some Odd Girl digital stamps)
Ink: Chai (Papertrey Ink); Copic markers
Cardstock: Kraft, Dark Chocolate (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Holly Jolly collection (My Mind's Eye)
Other: Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders); foam dimensionals; die cuts from Holly Jolly collection (My Mind's Eye)

a CARS birthday!

What little boy doesn't love Lightening McQueen? My son loved his card that I made him for his 4th birthday, so I decided to do a similar one for my nephew's 2nd birthday. He has his room decorated with all CARS themed 'stuff' so this will fit perfectly in there! I paired the cute EK Success image with Wander papers by Basic Grey. I heat embossed the sentiment (Hero Arts), added some twine, ribbon and button and voila! Done!

Stamps: Lightening McQueen (EK Success); birthday greetings set (Hero Arts)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copic markers; Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Soft Stone, Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Wander collection (Basic Grey)
Other: twine, ribbon, button (Papertrey Ink); clear embossing powder

Rustic Christmas wreath

This card is one of the many that I made for the SIX Christmas craft sales I am doing this season....2 down, 4 to go! I made about 20 of these (mass producing is waaayyyy easier than one at a time!) and they were very popular at the first 2 sales. I think this card has a very rustic, old-fashioned look to it. That berry wreath is just fabulous stamped in Scarlet Jewel...okay, how do I find that exact wreath for my front door?! :)

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Wreath for All Seasons
Ink: Scarlet Jewel, Dark Chocolate, Chai
Cardstock: Scarlet Jewel, Rustic Cream, Dark Chocolate
Other: Scarlet Jewel button; embossing folder (Provo Craft); Snowflake punch, decorative border punch (Martha Stewart); Labels Nine (Spellbinders)

Cheery Christmas and Cute Kids!

What a bright and cheerful Christmas card! I love how the red just 'pops' right off the card! This card could be one layer if you omitted the button or substituted with a paper diecut button instead. The red Stickles really make it lovely! I'm liking Papertrey Ink's Framed set more and more as I use it...I can really see the possibilities there.

Stamps: Framed, Wreath for All Seasons
Ink: Simply Chartreuse, Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy
Cardstock: Simply Chartreuse, Kraft, Rustic Cream, Pure Poppy
Other: button, baker's twine; Christmas Red Stickles (Ranger); decorative punch (Martha Stewart)

Don't you just LOVE this picture of my sweeties???!!! We had pictures taken a few weeks ago of the kids and I am in love with how they turned out. My children are gorgeous. :) Thanks to Art & Soul Photography by Glenda!!

Christmas Wishes

Well wasn't this an easy and quick card to throw together?! :) I have been budget-conscious this holiday season and am busy using up every last scrap of my Christmas paper and supplies leftover from last year. No need to buy new stuff until the old stuff is all gone...sad, but necessary since the ol' bank account will be needed for the kiddos Christmas presents instead of MY supplies. :) At least I'm told that's the right thing to do...*sigh* Have a great day everyone- it's chilly here; I had to pull out the kids winter coats today. :(

Stamps: Christmas Wish (Penny Black)
Ink: Scarlet Jewel; Chai (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Fine Linen (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Jolly by Golly collection (Cosmo Cricket)
Other: Snowflake punch (Martha Stewart); pearls (Kaisercraft)

Little baby, big love

Ohhh my. This is the 4th time I've attempted to post this card and my busy life keeps getting in the way! :) I'm keeping it short and sweet this time around...I created this sweet card for my cousin and her husband who recently had a baby girl. On a second look I decided it was a little toooo pink and girly for my 'tomboy' cousin and will have to make something different, but this one can go in the SELL pile. I paired a Hero Arts sentiment with a Prima pearl flourish and flower, and CUTE paper from Making Memories- the Pitter Patter collection! Thanks for looking!

Stamps: sentiment (Hero Arts)
Ink: Melon Berry, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Melon Berry, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Pitter Patter collection (Making Memories)
Other: Madrigal blossom, pearl flourish (Prima)

All Booked Up for Christmas!

This was one sample of the ohhhhh 500 Christmas cards I've made (so far) for 4 craft shows I'm in this holiday season. :) To say I'm sick of making Christmas cards is an understatement...!!! BUT they are all so jolly and cute how you can not love them!?

This one uses a Mat Stack die and coordinating stamp for the focal piece, with a Christmas image and sentiment in the openings. Papertrey Ink has so many sets that are perfect for mixing and matching so I KNEW it wouldn't be hard to go through my stash and find something that would fit in that cute frame! Click on the link and you'll see the All Booked Up set with matching die.

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: All Booked Up, Holiday Button Bits
Ink: True Black, Pure Poppy, Chamomile; Copic markers
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White
