Brother birthday!!

My 'little' brother was 24 on Sunday. He didn't do much to celebrate other than sleep most of the day I'm told (rough night??) but some of his friends brought him a vegan birthday cake...hmmm. I took my kids over to wish him a happy birthday, and when I saw this cake on the counter I knew it looked weird but to taste it was surprising! It wasn't as sweet as a regular chocolate cake, but spongy and good! Who knew??

Supplies:
Stamps: Beerfella (Stamping Bella); sentiment from Birthday Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Memento Black, Dark Chocolate (PTI); brown Zig marker; Copics
Cardstock: Kraft, Stamper's Select, Dark Chocolate (PTI); patterned paper (Kaisercraft)
Other: Dark Chocolate satin swiss dot ribbon (PTI); brads (MM)

You're so very TWEET! :)

This card was inspired by Silke Ledlow's creation here. Her cards are just so gorgeous! My version is much more basic, as I was mass producing them in various colours.

Stamps: Bird Watching
Ink: Memento Black; Copics
Cardstock: Stamper's Select, Enchanted Evening
Paper: 2008 Bitty Box Basics

Happy Harvest for the Papertrey Ink BLOG HOP!!

Another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!! My favourite night of month! This month we are celebrating all things "autumn." Already?! We barely had summer here in South Western Ontario!!!

I decided to use some fall colours for my inspiration. I like the end result of this card- maybe I'll save it for my dad once he hops in the combine to take off the corn and beans. He likes to take my son with him (spending time with Grandpa in the combine is one of Jake's FAVOURITE things to do) so this will be a thank you for him!

A few details-I stamped the sentiment from Vintage Picnic in Summer Sunrise right on the Chocolate Remix paper, as well as the floral image. The ribbon I folded over and fastened with a glue dot.

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Floral Fusion, Vintage Picnic
Cardstock: Dark Chocolate, Kraft
Paper: Chocolate Remix
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Summer Sunrise, Chamomile
Other: Summer Sunrise Swiss Dot Satin ribbon, Dark Chocolate button; Heidi Swapp edge distressor

ETA: This card is also for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge, which is a bit of a cheat since it's not a NEW card that I made specifically for the challenge, but I liked it so much and it conveniently included all of Dawn's colors this week!!

Thank you Berry much!!

I have never used Papertrey Ink's Green Thumb set before, so when I saw it on my mom's shelf I knew I would have to borrow it! I stamped a whole sheet of what I call a 'one sheet wonder.' That is...basically the same image/pattern stamped repeatedly so I can cut up the cardstock and use it anyway I want. For this one I went with the Thank You Berry Much sentiment included in the set.

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Green Thumb set
Ink: Pure Poppy, New Leaf, Chai; Memento Black
Cardstock: Stamper's Select, New Leaf, Kraft
Paper: 2008 Bitty Dot Basics
Other: New Leaf ribbon

Birthday Wishes and much more!

I don't think this card shows up on the screen as vibrant and pretty as it is IRL. I made a WHOLE bunch of these in different colours to put away and keep for birthdays, get well cards, thank yous, etc. I stamped them all differently, because the image will work for just about anything!!
Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Green Thumb, Mega Mixed Messages
Ink: Aqua Mist (new formula), Ocean Tides, Spring Moss (new formula); Memento Black
Cardstock: Aqua Mist
Other: Kaisercraft gems

Accidentally On Purpose

This card was one of those 'flubs' that turned out okay in the end run...haha. I was holding my Enchanted Evening stamp cube in one hand when my two year old startled me and I dropped it on the card that was almost finished! OH NO!! I salvaged it by doing it again and again on purpose down the rest of the side of the cardstock....haha. It looks "on purpose" doesn't it? :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Fresh Alphabet
Cardstock: Stamper's Select, Enchanted Evening
Ink: Enchanted Evening
Other: Enchanted Evening button; Cuttlebug embossing Stitched Squares; twine (misc)

Let's get together!!

This is for Jen Del Muro's SFYTT. I haven't done one of these sketches for awhile, so I'm glad to be back participating! For the star- I don't have a star punch (yet!), so I stamped one of the stars from Star Prints (PTI) and cut it out, turned it over and ran it through the embossing folder. That worked!

Supplies: (all by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: On My Couch, Polka Dot Basics II, Star Prints
Ink: Berry Sorbet, Ripe Avocado, Sweet Blush; Black (Memento)
Cardstock: Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Ripe Avocado, Stamper's Select

Sending Birthday Wishes

I couldn't resist buying Everyday Button Bits at the Papertrey Ink booth while at the CHA Supershow. I just love all the samples I saw there and online, and Nichole cautioned customers that it probably would sell out Friday, and not to wait, so I didn't! :)

On a personal note...I'm back to work after being off on maternity leave for 6 months, so this week was kind of stressful for me. I only work part-time as a librarian, and it's a job I really love with a lot of work 'satisfaction' but I forgot what a bummer it is not tucking my babies into bed at night. I'm thankful I only miss out on that one night a week!

Supplies:
Stamps: Everyday Button Bits (PTI)
Cardstock: Kraft, Scarlet Jewel, True Black (PTI)
Ink: Spring Moss, Spring Rain (PTI); Memento Black
Other: True Black ribbon, Scarlet Jewel ribbon (PTI), Heidi Swapp edge distressor, foam dimensionals

Stamps: Floral Fusion (PTI)
Ink: Summer Sunrise, Ripe Avocado, Chai (PTI); Memento Black
Cardstock: Kraft, Ripe Avocado (PTI)

Double the love!

How much do I love this card?! This is one of my favourites, for SURE! :) Super easy, and quick to make as well- even better! A friend needed a twin card (boy and girl), so I went with the ever gender-neutral yellow.

The transparency I ran through my Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Argyle folder and I really liked the result!

On another note- I really like how this picture turned out when I took it outside to photograph. If I could only find a spot in the house that gets that much natural light I would be all set. I guess I'll just save all my cards for a beautiful sunny day like today and head outside to snap away!

Supplies:
Stamps: Bitty Baby Blessings set (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Lemon Tart, Stamper's Select, Bitty Baby Blessings designer paper (PTI); transparency (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: Memento black
Other: foam dimensionals; Lemon Tart ribbon (PTI); scalloped blade (Purple Cow); Argyle embossing folder (Cuttlebug/Provo Craft)
