Chugga chugga choo choo!

What little boy doesn't love Thomas the Tank Engine?? I know my Jake is just in love with him and LOVES to read and reread all the Thomas books we have around the house.

This Thomas stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms was stamped in Graphite Black and coloured with my Copic markers. The patterned background paper is actual Thomas paper from Creating Memories. I found it at Michael's and picked it up KNOWING I'd use it with this stamp at some point! Other papers are Bazzil (blue) and Pure Poppy (by Papertrey Ink). Ribbon is Pure Poppy and the chipboard star I coloured yellow with a Copic, then covered with Doodlebug Designs glitter. The red circles were done using a Marvy punch, while the brads are from the Basic Grey Cupcake collection.

I was digging through my sketch file and found this one from only a week or two ago by Jen del Muro and thought it would suit the Thomas image perfectly!

Eggs-citing baby gift!

I took inspiration from the Lucky Clucker and created my own little baby sock present for friends of ours expecting their first baby (a boy!) in May.

I used an egg carton that holds half a dozen eggs (clean and new, NOT used!) and painted the top half white, and the bottom half a baby blue colour that came from mixing a few different Making Memories paints together.

I used Spring Rain cardstock for the matting and White Stamper's Select for the main part. I ran it through my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder (just the top half) and used the OTHER side of the folder, so the dots didn't pop 'out' (you know what I mean??). Then I scored 2 lines using my Scor Pal. The name I stamped using Simple Alphabet from Papertrey Ink (in graphite black) and used a Stampin' Up punch for the Lemon Tart circles, with a crystal in the middle.

The yellow ribbon was tied in a BIG bow with a bit of silver thread added (I hoped it would catched the sparkle of the crystals which I think worked). Then I attached a tag (Nestabilities) that was stamped using a sentiment from the Bitty Baby Blessings set by PTI. Another bit of bling and the outside was completed!

For the socks I balled them up really tight and tied them with misc. blue ribbon from Walmart. Then I used my Nestabilities for the plain and scalloped circles. You can see I stamped a few different sentiments from the Mixed Messages set by PTI and sponged ink all around the edges. The paper they are matted on comes from Bitty Dots patterned paper.

All in all, this was a cute gift that the mom-to-be LOVED! I was very happy with her reaction because it took me long enough to make it darn it! :)

Stella and her prezzies!!

Stella is tooooo cute! I find her so mischievous and sweet. Kinda like my children. :)


I played around with SC219 from a week or so ago over at SCS. You know me...I love sketches!! Points to note: The adorable image is Stella with a Prezzie. I roughed up all the edges of the cardstock and patterned papers (which are Plum Pudding, Kraft, New Leaf and Bitty Dots patterned paper all by Papertrey Ink). The embossing folder is my much loved Divine Swirls by Cuttlebug and the flowers are all Primas, with a Making Memories brad in the centre. Ribbon is Plum Pudding by PTI. I coloured Stella with Copics, added Stickles to her shoes, crown and wand and finished it off with some bling.

I love it that I have a mother who loves Bellas as much as I do...so that she can buy them and I can borrow them! :)


Okay...say this one 3 times fast. Underwatergoddessabella. Got that?? Holy moly that is a mouthful.


I used an oooooold Bella sketch right from the beginning. BSC14 in fact. I paired that with Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers and it went swimmingly...oooh I'm funny today. :) Add some ribbon, sparkly star brads and some hot fix gems and it was easy peasy. The sentiment came with the stamp (how great is that!?). I coloured the Bella with Copics and added lots of sparkle to her tail and hair. Those mermaids MUST have some bling! :)

Super simple eh? Too bad I have "crooked eyes" when it comes to ribbon...haha. I should have looked a bit closer BEFORE I adhered it completely...*sigh* oh well! The stamp is from Paper Candy company which I can't seem to find anywhere online. I embossed it in black and added some bling beside it. The awesome ribbon comes from the Paper Pickle (love those HUGE ribbon jars on the counter!), while the cardstock is True Black, White Stamper's Select and Raspberry Fizz from Papertrey Ink.

Teddybella is tooooo precious! She is the perfect stamp to use on a baby shower card! Which is what I did...

Highlights of the card- I paper pieced her shirt/tummy with cute springtime paper from Imaginisce, added glitter to one of her bags, added gold Liquid Pearls to her purse, and brown flock by Doodlebug to the bear's nose. The sentiment comes from the Baby Love set by Kim Hughes of Cornish Heritage Farms. This card follows an awesome sketch by Jen del Muro. Check it out here. The friend I gave this card to is having a boy and her baby shower was the past Sunday. I took my little Robin (who is 7 weeks old now!!) and of course she was passed around like a hot potato. Everyone loves a baby, especially at a baby shower!! :)

I felt that these cheery papers from Imaginisce (last springs line) were appropriate for this fun Bella.

I coloured her with my Copics and inked the edges with a soft buttery yellow ink, then matted her on Spring Rain cardstock. There are Stickles (of course!) on the shamrocks. This is a pretty basic card- I followed a Bella sketch and kept it simple, adding some Basic Grey brads and using my Nestabilities for a little 'extra'. The sentiment comes from Mixed Messages by Papertrey Ink, who conveniently have come out this month with a larger version of that fantastic set. Love it!

I love the softness of this card. So pretty and "springlike". I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I keep looking at it hoping it will make me feel a little more optimistic about spring actually being around the corner...although with all the rain we are having spring MUST be here!!

As usual, I've used a sketch to follow (isn't it just easier??). This time it's Amy Rysavy's Friday Sketch #51. You can see her post here about it. I used Basic Grey Lily Kate papers; all edges inked with a soft pink using my sponge dauber. The image was stamped in Graphite Black and coloured with my Copics. I am not sure of what company it is from...but it's from my mom's stash and she's made a card or two using it...There is a little bit of Stardust Stickles on each flower for a pretty 'sparkly' touch. Brads are misc. from my stash as is the tulle ribbon, but the pink satin is Papertrey Ink's Sweet Blush. Lastly, the 'everything' sentiment comes from a Close to My Heart set that I can't find anywhere on the website!! :(

Home Sweet Home

I think I should have stamped "Home Tweet Home" instead... :) I love this image by Stampington & Co. Isn't it darling? I'm back to stocking up on cards of all kinds, so I took inspiration from the little birdies here and created a new home card. I'm sure I'll use it eventually for one of my friends- they are all getting married, buying houses and having babies. I guess we call that growing up!

There is nothing particularly fancy about this card, so I'll just list the supplies used:

I *felt* it was the right time to use some felt...

I love seeing/feeling texture on a card. It makes everything about a card 10x better...that's why I grabbed a felt image instead of stamping one myself for this creation. This was also my first time using my Spring Rain cardstock from Papertrey Ink (finally!!) so I accomplished more than I hoped for, haha! Pretty simple card really- Cuttlebug Argyle pattern on top (using white stamper's select cardstock), Pure Poppy on the bottom stamped with a sentiment from Birthday Basics (PTI). I added Spring Rain ribbon and the felt airplane and used my white gel pen for the 'swirly' . In the top right corner I used a glue dot to attach a green button with a K & Company gem on top. I think I'll save this birthday card for my son's best buddy Lukas who will be 2 in a few weeks.
